FYI, I've been using my USB-UIRT since version .96 and earlier without any problem. I use it for both transmitting and receiving. My GBPVR has no other plug-in installed and is used for video only (no picture, music yet).

Also forgot to mention I have an external transmitter connect to the back of the USB-UIRT. Hope this info is helpful to anyone.

Sorry - Thought Sub had answered this already - that may have been in another thread.

Apparently the GBPVR recording service keeps ahold of the USBUIRT after it has transmitted a channel so it can be quicker to access at the next recording or live channel change. So when you restart the recording service, it releases and you can use it again.

I dont use mine for receiving - so if you are having issues with that, this might not be the solution. (use something lie devcon to restart the USB device)

So it will continue to record shows, but if you try and use the commandline app it wont work. One other issue I have is that if I have been recording, when I try and go into live TV it takes ages and everything is really sluggish. Time to look at the logs again I think!

Make sure the USB-UIRT is pointed to the front of your cable and/or staellite box so it can send the signal. I kept moving my pc and sometimes the signal would get blocked and stopped working.

Was this meant for me? The issue I was talking about was when the UIRT stops sending signals at all ( usually using the comand line app) until the recording service is restarted. (UIRT not moved at all)

I did notice, however, the other day that my STB was not taking any signals from the UIRT, or the remote.
I found that stopping the DVD (stand alone player) I had left playing corrected this, must have been some EMF interference or similar.

Hello,

Just been searching for this type of error! Have been using GB-PVR for about nine months (with usb-uirt for 3 months) and noticed the same failing in the usb-uirt to send signals to the stb (uk sky digibox).

As of a couple of hours ago I have disabled the "allow computer to switch off device to save power" in relation to the USB hub properties in device manager. Don't know if this has any relevance at all, but I thought it worth a try (and this post)!!

PC is basically "always on"

I'll be keeping an eye over the next few days and post back my findings. There are recordings scheduled for later tonight so I'll see if a recording knocks it out of line.

Cheers and Merry Christmas!!!
