McBainUK Wrote:There is no "save theme" function as yet but if you wanted to save the choices you've got you could just back up the _CommonImages folder, as this is where are the images in use are kept. If you want to save your main menu choice you could also make a backup of the mainmenu and panels folders.

Then if your experiments go wrong you can just restore the backups.

Thanks very much. That will be a big help.

Quote:What are the "very significant" differences? This will help me point you in the right direction.

The main differences are in the size/weight of the font, and the size/font on the buttons. If you look at the screenshots attached you'll hopefully see right away: http://www.muon-software.com/temp/comparisons.zip

Having said that, I've been playing around alot with the other images supplied with the skin and I've almost found something that I like the look of. I noticed a few errors in the My Movies skin and also the System skin, but apart from that I'm almost ready to put this to use.

Regards
Dave

Thanks for the screen shots. Also, let me know what the errors are if you would.

In the system plugin, I think the button strip appears about 10 pixels further to the right than the other plugins. You can see the buttons "jump" to the left when you access the settings pages.

In a few of the system settings items, the text is clipped at the top and the bottom if it is too large to fit into the available box - I think this is because the text is centred vertically. There are also little settings dialog pop ups that appear which allow you to cycle through the choices available - in this dialog, the OK/cancel buttons appear too large/too close together.

In "My Videos", the buttons appear too close to the left edge of the screen compared to other plugins but the real problem is with the icon, big icon and preview views. I've been experimenting with some of the graphics provided with the Community Skin and the ones I'm using in particular don't match the size of the icons "My Videos" is using for folders/navigation. The text at the bottom of each icon goes outside the border also.

Hope this helps

Fixed for next release.

Fixed for next release, I cannot change the size of the buttons in the dialog so I spread them apart some more.

Main menu updated for next release. The original BlueMCE2 used "Plain" instead of "Bold" for main menu button fonts. Bold was used on all plugins, just not the main menu. (Maybe it didn't matter as much, but I changed it anyway.)

Ok, I have tweaked the buttons a little (changed the vertical size a little to help looks in MCE2 theme only) and the font in the plugins appears to be ok.

Also, the text that appears at the top of several screens is acutally an image with text in it. This feature is dropped in favor of text, for the benefit of non-english speaking users.

The MCE2 theme in the next update will also have the List background boxes shut off with blank images, to match the original better.

That all sounds great, I'm looking forward to seeing the next release.

Something else much like this item:-

I noticed that the record dialog (accessed from the TV Guide) has the same problem.

Thanks for all the input, I appreciate it. I fixed this as well.

This is the latest build: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OPXMXZMG

Also worked on some of the My Videos issues. (addressed the button layout, and used common images for folder icons.)
