I wonder if there will be a replacement strap in the near future.

look up 'mono' and 'duo' on google. freebie downloads. basic (seemingly) but compelling gameplay and really trippy graphics. And if the trippy graphics turn out to be your 'ting, try plasma pong.

***edit*** here's the site - to give them their full credit, and also cos I realised the above google search is a bit vague... http://www.binaryzoo.com/

The Wii is pretty cool. I got the priviledge of playing it at work for a week or so. I remember thinking as we were though that this strap is going to be a problem. It doesn't adjust to fit your wrist really and especially with the baseball game I swung pretty hard a couple times and was thinking I wonder if my manager will get pissed if I end up chucking this through the wall. That being said I don't know how you break your tv with that. It really doesn't have any weight to it so you would have to really be trying to do chuck it as hard as you can at the TV. Most of the sports games warn you to make sure that there is nothing around you and to be careful with the controler anyway.

It doesn't track you movements as well with some things though. With the boxing game you can punch too fast for it to track that punch. I did start to break a sweat while playing that though. You have to like a video game that asks you how fit you are before you start.

The whole strap thing though is why you don't rush out and stand in line to get something like this. Especially game consoles. The brand new ones always are buggy and don't have the cool accesories that they will come out with later. So somebody who pays $15,000 for a system just overpaid so they could have an inferior system. I don't understand it at all.

While looking to see if anyone had tried using Glovepie ( http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie ) to use their Wiimote as a bluetooth input device I stumbled upon this thread and this quote:

bdgbill Wrote:10 hours in line? In a few weeks there will be pyramids of Wii's and PS3's in every wal-mart in the country.

As of today, this STILL hasn't happened for the Wii. I got interested in getting a Wii after my 60+ year old aunt was telling me how much fun it was while at her house on New Years day. I spent the next three weeks calling stores locally and watching the watch lists for online retailors before finally getting one from Circuit City online. CC sold out in ten minutes so I was really lucky. Itrackr.com shows national avalibility at ~10% . A few of my coworkers are looking to each get a console and haven't been as lucky as I.

After playing for a few days, I can see why they are in such high demand. Even my wife, a nongamer, loves the thing. She told me that we could get up early and bowl a few frames before work. Who would have thunkit?!

Any one want to donate me a PS3? I'll write a client for it Big Grin

It looks quite doable. I've got an xbox360, but the 'no networking' limitation of the currently available tools makes it a client for it impossible.

ROTFL you should have asked for a WII, seems more fun Wink

then again, better not WII, that would affect ETA of 1.0 dramatically to the worse Big Grin

The wii looks fun, but has pretty much zero prospects for being a client. There is pretty much no options for third party development with it.

DAMNED!!! you mean there's no chance for a WII GBPVR client? Wink
how can you say that for sure? you should at least take a look at it, see how it works, well, then again see how works, just for educational reasons of course Big Grin

i wonder how long it will take for that remote to get standard with other devices & how creative developers take that idea for GUI & other navigation...
