Even with it set to ASAP... it doesn't post process and convert it. But still stranger than that I can't figure out why both files: mpg and divx and missing sound.

Its probably some GB-PVR bug. Transport stream autoconversion was new in this release, so I'm guessing there is something wrong with it. Unfortunately I havnt found time to look into it yet.

I tried manually converting a .ts file I had, and it still had audio after the conversion. I'm guessing thats a playback problem, most likely something to do with the audio decoder on your machine.

I switched back to Dvr-ms b/c it's smother and has fewer problems. I have the ATI MPEG mux, but I still can't convert it. Any thoughts?

To convert from DVR-MS you need to have the Cyberlink mux.

Well... I've tried to transcode dvr-ms files as well as straight recording in mpeg... both failed. I have installed the thmpgmux.ax file from Cyberlink. They work for about a minute ~50seconds, and then fail as if they're corrupted. Any thoughts... should I just post my logs? I wish I could figure this out.

As I've said a few times in this thread ATSC users often have trouble converting DVR-MS files, or recording directly to .MPG via one of these muxes. DVB users fare much better doing the same thing with DVR-MS files.

My theory is TS mux recording is much better suited to converting to a .mpg file for ATSC users.

Yes, I know this kind of going around in circles this thread...

ATSC users will fare best just recording/watching/deleting either .DVR-MS or .TS files. It just gets sticky if you're trying to convert it to other file types.

Fair enough. :-)

Two last questions...
... does hauppauge have a special mux I should be using since the card has the mpg2 enconder on the hardware itself?

What do I need to do to fix the TS recordings... they were much more likely to fail and have weird show lengths.

No. The mpeg2 encoder is only relates to the analog side of card.
