I've never seen that remote. I was going by the picture at http://www.soundgraph.com/Eng_/Products/...eftMenu=21

It shows the button I talked about.
Quote:The PAD controller is designed to be able to be also used as four (up, down, left, right) arrow buttons on Keyboard.
Because the button layout of iMON PAD remote controller is well arranged and many media-play-related buttons are served, it’s very useful on applications such as MultiMedian and Windows Media Center. iMON Manager and MultiMedian is already updated and optimized for iMON PAD remote controller.
Quote:4. Mouse/keyboard button : Switching the usage of PAD controller between mouse and keyboard 4 way arrow keys.

Indeed that is exactly what I had thought, but it just plain refuses to send Keyboard Left, Right, Up, Down commands no matter what it says here.

No problem, thanks for your help.

Strangely it has started working now. Weird! Anyway, I guess I have another problem now, the Harmony direction control is painfully slow - about 1s between key presses taking effect. Thats clearly not an IMon or GBPVR/PVRX2 issue as the iMon PAD remote control is perfectly quick.

I even managed to get PVRX2 to start up off the Green Button (or a special menu item on the Harmony). So I can get focus back when I want it.

Slightly off-GBPVR topic, but I found a solution to the performance problem of Harmony-iMon-PVRX2 menus. Choose a different device for the Harmony. There are a myriad of iMon related device profiles, they are not all created equal. Even though there is a hFX iMon setup it is hopeless, choose "Silverstone LC-20M" instead and hey presto everything performs quickly, except for a couple of buttons that needed relearning due to a "double repeat" problem. (Who knows why you can't just search for all iMon entries in the DB, but hey thats Logitech for you).

So now I have the iMon/Harmony/PVRX2 IR all working nicely. Just need to sort out the VFD now - either ExternalDisplay or the iMon plugin should do the trick.

I have an HD44780 vfd and understand I can use this plugin to display information through LCDSmartie.
I have LCDSmartie, and downloaded this plugin, but I'm not sure what the next step is to get it going. Could I get a hint please? Smile

Edit: I saw the error in my ways and figured it out. I hadn't put SG_VFD.dll in the system32 folder. I assumed it was needed only if I were using an iMON VFD.

whurlston Wrote:Here it is. I there are a couple of buttons that I customized but you can look at the commands to see them. Place this file in your "C:\Program Files\Soundgraph\iMon\Preset MCE\" folder (or the appropriate preset folder for you).

In the iMon Manager, set the Application Launcher to launch PVRx2.exe

There was a "Windows Command" button that I had to remove and remap in the "Program Command" window for PVRx2 but I can't remember what it was. That setting will be removed from the PVRx2 config when you load it since it conflicts but you can easilymap it back.

Edit: PVRx2.imo (this is to assist in searches).

I too am having problems with the Imon and GBPVR. I used whurlston's pvrx2.imo file - most buttons work, but with issues. I can't get the "back" / "exit" to work (equivalent to hitting 'esc' on the keyboard). No big deal, except it is one of the most used keys. IMON doesn't even recognize it as an input.

For reference, I have a Antec 430 Black case (IMON equivalent). For a remote, I am using a Logitech Harmony One mapped as a MCE remote. I also have a Hauppauge 45 button remote if it helps.

Where do I start?

Thanks to everyone that contributes. When I figure out, I will give step-by-step guide.

That's because "ESC" is mapped in the Windows commands already.

  1. Open iMON Manager.
  2. Go to "Settings" -> "Windows Command".
  3. Select the "Keyboard Command" tab.
  4. Modify the entry for "Esc button".
  5. Select "Do not define."
  6. Select "Finish".
  7. Reimport the pvrx2.imo under "Program Command".

I can't remember if there are any other buttons with this issue, but I'll double check it tonight.

I have already done that.

I wonder if it is because I am using a Harmony One instead of a true MCE remote? In the Logitech software, I have the 'Exit' button mapped as the MCE 'back'. In iMon Manager, I have 'back' mapped as 'keyboard escape'.

Thanks for your quick response...

I think I see the problem. In the Windows Commands, Set the "Back Space Button" and "Menu Button" to "Do Not Define". (The "Menu Button" is not related to your problem but it's defined in the pvrx2.imo so we need to clear it as well.)

Unfortunately, it looks like the pvrx2.imo I uploaded is missing the "Back Button" definition so you will need to add it manually:

  1. Go to "Program Command".
  2. Select "pvrx2" from the dropdown.
  3. Re-import the pvrx2.imo which should now map the "More" button correctly.
  4. Add a function and name it "Back".
  5. For the shortcut, Press the ESC key.
  6. Make sure "Use Multimedia Key" is unchecked
  7. Select "Next".
  8. For the RC Button, select "[MCE Remote] Back".
  9. Select "Finish".

It should now work as intended.
