I believe I have, not with the 780G though. The Nvidia 8600GTS with Cyberlink PDVD8 decoder shows about a 10% load on my box when it is running at 1GHz (Cool & Quiet). I had to edit the Reg to copy the settings from the Config to PVRX2 branches after enabling it.

One problem that I still have is if I go to BBCHD then BBC2 comes up with no signal. If I go back to TV guide then BBC2, it works again. BBC1 and ITV are fine after HD so it does not seem to be an HD to SD thing, more a polarization issue or something. I have tried the BDAtuningTwice options in config.xml but they don't help. I would be interested if your S350 does this too.

SNIP.

Yes, I also gave up on the HD3200 IGP long ago! Using a HD3450 now (after blowing-up a brand-new 8800GT!). I have no problem getting hardware acceleration working, but it is not acceptable quality. Lypc Sync is badly out, deinterlacing is mostly not, and frame order seems wrong. Have tried MPC HC and Cyberlink PDVD8. I have read a few threads pointing to UVDv1 ATI cards not handling interlaced HD material so well, so perhaps I should have gone Nvidia like you. Can you confirm BBC HD and ITV1 HD work properly for you with HA?

Yep just tried it and my S350 behaves exactly the same. The PC that I have the S350 in is not up to playing HD properly though, so not really an issue for me! (It records HD fine though, so I can record 2 HD channels at once on those very rare occasions there is two things on worth watching!)
However the DVBfix also fixed this second PC - which always crashed if Livepreview was used. Different hardware and different copy of Windows XP - but the same SP3.

You are making me doubt myself but I believe that HD with HA is fine, I certainly have no sync issues. However, I have not looked at a graph recently (it works) and I know that sometimes it does funky things such as selecting a audio decoder other than specified in config. I think I am using FFDshow for audio and I only have the AC3 version of BBC1 mapped. I have only watched ITVHD to confirm it works so cannot comment on lip sync... they only seem to show football and it only transmits infrequently.

ITV HD has been broadcasting quite a few films - the Star Wars films shown over the last few weeks have looked very good in HD. For listings try http://www.joinfreesat.co.uk/index.php/f...d-schedule

Thanks for that link, I may have to scrape that page and produce some XML for import.......

The main problem with ITV HD is that I don't check it anymore as it is so rarely broadcasting, if I had listings, I would use it more. I suppose that, as it is a Red Button service, this will not happen.

Old problem returned this weekend, so I applied the dvbfix. And, of course, you knewWink, it cured the crashing problem.

Thanks for helping

Just to add to this, I've been playing with a new tuner in my main (non pvr) machine and got these crashes that rang a bell. (OK recording, OK playing back a recording, Windows crash error playing live TV from DVB-S).

I found the download on my main PVR machine. The doc file points to a non-existent thread on Hauppauge UK forum. It installs mpeg2data.ax and PsisDecd.dll from 2004 and they are a lot smaller than the current ones - but work fine!.

I had to reload them again a couple of weeks ago. This must have been a Windows update or something which reverted them to the non working versions.

....and another one. Installed the latest ATI drivers (9.5) and I got the dreaded 15-20 second crash on Live TV. Ran DVBFix and it doesn't happen any more.

There will come a point when my switch from analogue to DVB, a process only started a month ago, will be over and watching TV becomes as seamless as before. I'm a glass-half-full kid of guy...
