Run ReRegisterFilters.bat and try again. Since you're on Vista, you should start CMD.exe with 'run as administrator', "CD C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\" then run the ReRegisterFilters.bat.

ok, i ran that bat file, but it couldn't find anything, so I had to copy them to the system32 folder, then it worked fine. So, ran the channel scans, still, didn't find anything. I did all the scans in one instance, so they're all in one log file...sorry if it's huge..

the log file didn't tell you anything? I bought the 1800 because it was listed as having native QAM support, did someone test it for that? I'd just be curious how they set things up.

There no sign of any problems in the logs, but the device never manages to lock onto any signals.

That card was a pretty safe bet. There is heaps of people here using HVR-1800s for QAM.

My 2cents on the 1800-

I have the HVR-1600 and 1800 in the same machine. with the cable into the 1600 i get about 75% signal strength and all my Clear QAM channels my DTV gets, if i plug that same coax into the 1800 i get 0 channels on the QAM tuner (wintv and gbpvr)

I get channels using WinTV, that's the thing. It's on the center frequencies that I receive channels, and with GBPVR using the QAM manager, I see nothing. So, there's nothing I can do? I don't understand how WinTV can use the same frequencies, and actually find channels. I really don't understand how it works, but to me it seems that if one program sees them, the other should. Is it not that simple?

Generally with a Hauppauge card its as simple as you suggest, ie if you can a channels with WinTV, you'll also get the channels with GB-PVR.

I can only go on the info in your logs, and it has no sign of any errors in the logs, and everything appears to be working correctly, but the device never manages to lock any signal. The only possible reasons I can think of is your cable was connected correctly when you scanned in WinTV, but isnt when you tried GB-PVR, or its scanning the wrong frequencies. No that you'v fixed the 'GBPVR Psi Parser' filter not registered problem, it'd be good if you could retry the original QAM.ini that ships with GB-PVR rather than those generated by the QAM manager utility.

If that doesnt work, you can either bring your PC around to my house to take a look (I'm in New Zealand Big Grin), or if you've got VNC I could remote in and take a look for you.
