- I am unable to remove the default 'Close Hotspot'. The similar removal of 'Home Hotspot' did work.

Side note: In this Skin settings menu the 'p' in hotspot slightly overlaps with the following 'o' (viewed on PC via VNC. MVP display is correct.)

To echo what McBainUK said. This is exactly (especially personally) the feedback I'm hoping for, thanks.

As a quick explanation. For the beta we're trying out aligning the text slightly differently (to accommodate the plugin's ability to vary the text sizing). As a result most text is center aligned, so that as it increases it effectively expands from a center point. This can make it a little tricky to find a layout that accommodates the different variables, so some places may take a bit of trial and error Smile

So if anyone else sport this sort of quirk could they please let us know, and if you could mention whether you're seeing it with the default sized or altered sized text.

Cheers

I've just tried this out successfully on my end. Could you try loading the transparent graphic for this option and posting your
"..GBPVR\Plugins\SkinPlugin4\SkinPluginHelper.exe" file.

cheers

edit: assume this is with the default text size?

yes, default windows aero theme. I hadn't altered any other settings.

btw: In Aliberts TV Recordings plugin, the Update Season text does not fit inside the button correctly, presumably as this button was not sized to accept this amount of text.

On the MVP I can make these kind of changes, but I have to switch off/on to view the changes

I assume you meant the logfile, not the exe. Log attached. The resulting image after the copy indeed looks like a blank image. However also after a reboot I continue to see the green arrow in the top left corner. Do I misunderstand something?

It is much worse on my machine, maybe because of Vista. I think the skin helper program is launched but it gets "stuck" in the interactive desktop because it is not a console app, so I have to do tricks to kill it. With beta-2 I can change via pvrx2.

Just to clarify, the hotspot area has two graphics in CS4. Hotspot_Close and Hotspot_Home (pic attached). To remove both you'll need to select the transparent option for both via the plugin. If you've tried that and either or both aren't loading right, post back here and I'm sure one of other more code monkey types Big Grin will have a look, (the logs look about right to me).

McBainUK Wrote:Can you explain further? I've just done a quick test here and I was able to change Layout-Video Library to "slick" and the Graphics-Logo to the transparent option.
Yes, I was a bit vague - sorry:o.

If I select GBPVR or Transparent in Graphics-Logo, and then apply, the logo changes fine. If I then go back to Graphic-Logo, Community Skin has the * beside it. If I select Community Skin and then apply, the logo does not change. I can switch between GBPVR and Transparent, but I can't get back to Community Skin.

I think it's a similar problem with Layouts.

So... I cleared out SkinPluginHelper.exe.log, did a fresh install (did not retain existing theme), changed Logo to GBPVR and applied - logo changed OK. Then I went back into SkinPlugin and in the list of logos, Community Skin still had the *... I selected Community Skin, pressed enter and applied. The log shows that the second change was ignored. I guess that SkinPlugin is not remembering the current settings somehow.

I hope that's a bit clearer...Smile

I tried again, This time I did a Revert All first and next again changed both to the transparant position. I now got rid of both. Seems problem solved, but I remain puzzled. In the next days I will try it a few times to see if i can reproduce. Thanks for assistance.
