Sorry, but i doubt about that, i am 100% sure you are not runing DXVA but SW decoding. What decoder are you using for DVD?

...and i didnt known about such plugin exist Smile So BlueRay navigation works? isnt that illegel?

I get good results from either the Cyberlink decoder or the ATI one for DVD playback and navigation. I'll check later if it uses DVXA on DVDs. Still, works nicely and I have no problems with it.

Bluray navigation doesn't work, but it plays the main feature no problems.

Actually I did read it - though it has grown somewhat since! Although I think a one-stop solution for new installs is a good idea, and it is great work you are doing, personally I have always steered clear of codec packs, preferring to install only what I need at the time, and then adding things as the need arises such as MKV support. Have been very happy with the results, but as the saying goes about idle hands, I could not resist adding a blue-ray drive and installing the software it came with. The problem with programs like PDVD or Nero is that they do totally take over the system without so much as asking you first! But as I have paid for PDVD, and the PDVD player does give very good results, I just thought it would be good to use the decoders in GBPVR - if all the features could be unlocked...
A big question for Cyberlink is why they make their decoders the Windows default when all the features are locked-out unless you use their own player!

I have to correct myself. PDVD did scew up my audio (because it uninstalls Purevideo audio), but if it is selected as the H264 decoder in GBPVR config then hardware acceleration does work fine without any registry tweaks. Watching BBC HD (XP VMR9) CoreAVC I was getting CPU 40-50%, but using the PDVD decoder CPU is <20%, which is about right for VMR9 I think. Another bonus is that I can now pause/ff/rw HD recordings (CoreAVC always had problems with this).

I'm using the Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder for DVD playback with Vista and EVR. It is set to "Use Hardware Accelerator" and gives a CPU usage for 5-10% while playing back a DVD (mostly 7%).

To enable DXVA for Cyberlink MPEG-2 you need to do it directly in registy
Low CPU useage is normal, decoding MPEG-2 is not problem for modern CPUs.

Good way how to check it is MPC-HC player and use Cyberlink as external decoder MPC-HC tels you if DXVA is on or not.

OK tried the DVXA codec suggested - MPEG2 works fine but the MPC decoder on H264 gives a blank screen (XP + VMR9 FSE - same on VMR9 custom). Thoughts?

I'd like to try a new H264 codec if only because sound and video drift apart quite fast and annoyingly with HD using all the codecs I've tried so far...
