I've tried reverting back as far as the 04/15 software and firmware and it still happens. I'll try some older versions tonight but I don't think I can revert the firmware past that.

These also report that they are locked with 100% quality, as well. If there was too much signal, I would think that the quality would report as being compromised, even though the signal was 100%, no?

Some of the ones off other directions of the array are (expectedly) down in strength and quality:
I believe you. There was an issue with the firmware HDHR reporting 100% before when it should have been a little lower. I just wanted to be sure. To answer your question though, on a signal that is too hot, you will see the quality jumping between 100 and 0 while running the HDHomeRun Config (GUI) since it polls at regular intervals.

I'll go through your logs again late tonight when I am at home and try to create a manual cache file for you. This crashing with the HDHR so far has me stumped. Paul and I can scan just fine using our other tuners on the same line.

Maybe sub can tug on the strings of someone at Silicon and ask them about this. I'll send any logs they need. I do believe it's a firmware issue but what do I know.

Tonight after my recordings, I'm going to enable connecting to the debug server on the HDHR and replicate the issue. I don't know if it will show them anything useful though since the local debug info shows no signal or network errors. There is definitely something funny in the stream though.

What OS are you guys running that is giving you problems?
I have 3 HD's each with it's own OS on it and partitioned to keep the data for each OS separate from each other (I like to be called names!) I rarely boot to XP or Vista but do keep it as I beta test for just about anyone who asks me (nerd wanna-be) and decided to update both XP and Vista with the latest HDHR firmware. Strangely, things worked just fine and I did nothing different. So I uninstalled HDHR in W7 and ran CCleaner and rebooted and reinstalled HDHR to try again. No luck.
So, why is that? If you guys are running something other than W7 than it's likely a fluke for me that it did work. I get more confused with each thing I try.

I also have 2 W7 boxes that this happens on. I'm still playing with ideas but will likely post on the Silicon forum this weekend.

I'm running XP SP3. I have a Mythbuntu partition, but auto boot to XP by default.

Tonight when I came home and fired up the PC, it had the program guide and was working. I only have one of the HDHR tuners enabled (OTA), but it is recording and playing back. I won't be able to play with this more until Friday, but I would really like to add the QAM cable channels in. I wonder if I have had a conflict in my EPG by running mc2xml for both the terrestrial and digital cable signals. I followed an example where I call build two .dat files and then include the 1st in the file generated by the second. Maybe there is a conflict that is confusing the channel mapping in GBPVR. I want GBPVR to use the OTA channels (better quality, no cable MSO compression or modification of the stream) to record network TV, but would would like to still be able to record clearQAM signals. I guess I'll try researching mc2xml - I may have to use the .chl file to explicitly call out the channels I want mapped on which HDHR receiver.

Anyway, thanks for the help and the friendly attitude! Maybe I'll get this going sometime soon!
Regards,
Dean

Win7 here too. Well it was. Mediaportal 1.1 is just too buggy, so I reverted back to my xp partition. I have no tuning issues at all with xp sp3.
