GuidePlus does not touch <AdvancedRules> or <Quality> so unless the first error is causing the second I don't know what is happening there.

Do you use the API to modify the scheduled_recording table? I suspect there might be an issue using it if the event_details contains AdvancedRules.

No, I use sql on the table directly. But if the advanced rules are in the event_details that would explain it since I re-write it from scratch therefore when event_details field is updated it would be lost. That's why it would have been nicer if rather than a big bucket of XML text each had its own SQL field. I guess I can change the routine a bit to read the event_details and only replace the relevant info keeping the rest intact.

Is there an API call that does this now (with an example??), I could try switching to that as well.

Ok, attached is a version that while not using the API keeps the event details intact so any extra info will remain. The only actions taken are to add data to the title,subtitle and description. (seas ep string and original air date)

NEWA contains some examples of using the ScheduledRecording() APIs. It is overloaded, and you need to take care determining the type of ScheduledRecording you are modifying to determine which parameter to pass.

@carpeVideo, sorry any confusion, after thinking about it a bit, I was getting my XML fields mixed up, the AdvanceRules are in the RECURRING_RECORDING table, not SCHEDULE_RECORDING, but it is still good you don't make assumptions about what is in event_details. I believe toricred has another issue with some process that is modifying the event_details and the quality fields.

Thanks Martin - guidePlus does not touch the recurring_recording table so the second issue may be caused by something else entirely. But I do agree its best to keep the event_details as intact as possible.

So I'm going to start from scratch on my Recurring Recordings. Do you think I should delete them through the GUI, truncate the table, or just completely start over with a fresh npvr.db3?

I'm doing this because all my recurring recordings are now listed twice.

BTW, I have been doing my work on these through NPVR itself, NEWA on the server, and NEWA on my tablet. On my tablet I have to start with the manage.aspx not manage2.aspx. Do you think that could be the cause of my advanced rules getting lost?

Based on that I just confirmed that when you modify any record with advanced rules in NEWA, you lose these rules, creating a corrupt record.

At least now I know why it is getting screwed up. The problem is that I can't figure out how to create advanced rules inside the GUI. I also am having a problem getting All Channels to work in the GUI. Is there a way around this?

Back to the topic of GuidePlus, I have deleted all my Recurring Recordings and the table is now empty. I ran xmltv to get my EPG data from Schedules Direct and pointed one channel to this data. Then I ran Empty EPG and Update EPG. Everything worked fine. Next I ran the guideplus from post 33 in this thread and tried to link the same channel to the output xml file. I get the attached error now. I don't think guideplus is working quite right. I'm also attaching the output file The input file won't fit under the limit on uploads. Also the channel I'm trying to map is 4 KOBDT.
