Ideally about a 10 minute recording, and preferrably from channel with time or ticker with time.

Here's a 3 minute recording with a clock.

I'm working on the 10 minute, it will be big!

Can you describe a specific skipping scenario that shows the problem with that sample?

Here's the log from a test of the Q13 FOX News file that I sent. I annotated it in red where there was a problem. When the skip is reported in the log as taking several hundred msec, the video actually freezes for 10-15 secs. Where the time is reported as 30 -70 msec, the skip was OK. "Short skip" back tends to be better than "long skip" forward. The first long skip forward at 11:01:07.188 experienced the problem where the screen froze for 10 secs or so.

What Graham said, same thing here with my files. Do you want the timing info?

Don't know if this will help as I deal with USA OTA NTSC, but here is a MediaInfo report on one .ts files saved. As npv4r is only used to saves all recordings, all would be similar

Just an initial comment before we drill down further. I play this file, and keep moving the mouse so the timeline is visible, when it reaches 15 seconds I hit skip, and I dont get this 20 second audio/video freeze you're reporting. For the skip takes something like half a second, then audio video is playing again.

What OS are you running? I'm running Win7 64bit.

Can some of you other guys try this same file and let me know what happens when you try the same test?

I can reproduce Graham's symptoms at will with his news.ts file, either skip forward or back. The delay is 15 -20 seconds with the screen frozen at the skipped-to point. It moves to the new frame, and just "sits" there until something catches up, and then it starts playing both video and audio.

Win7 32 bit, MS video decoder, AC3 filter for audio, EVR renderer for video, default for audio.

His file skips OK on my test box, also Win7 32 bit with the same decoders, etc, just a more powerful system. See my sig.
