Try the attached NextPVR patch, and updated XBMC addon, to see if it helps. This version explicitly tells the NextPVR backend to close the live tv session rather than relying on detecting the socket closing.

If this fixes the problem, I'll commit the update so that it makes it into the main addon build.

Since Frodo is released and platform-wide updates are unlikely for months, is there any way your web server could use a short keepalive and close it by itself

I think the change I've made is the best way of handling it.

TCP can be problematic for detecting closed connections, particularly when the data has a one-directional flow, and the socket keep alive settings wont really help. Very little can be done with a server-side-only change.

Ok,it may be best but I disagree about the value of using using keepalives in this scenario.

Thanks Sub.

After initial testing, it's slightly better but still not doing the same as previously & is still keeping the live tv files.

If I exit XBMC now though it does stop recording the channel but the live tv temp files are still there.

When you switch from live tv to another video source, NextPVR continues to record. If you go back to live tv and change channel from xbmc it's not a problem but the tuner is inaccessible from other devices even though I may not actually be watching live tv in XBMC.

Also the live tv files are unable to be deleted until I restart the nextpvr service.

Plugin version in XBMC reads 1.6.4. Can post clean logs again if you require.

Restart everything, then reproduce the error by watching a single channel for a short time, then stop live tv in XBMC, then post the nrecord.log and web.log and I'll take a look. (no channel changes etc to keep the logs simple)

Patched applied...so far I see the issue is persisting. After stopping the channel, closing XBMC, the file is growing.

Thanks for looking into this!

Pic and logs attached.

And did the files get left behind?

In the logs, it looks like it identified the connection had gone at 1:03:38, then four seconds later at 1:03:42 it deleted the file.

Yes the problem doesn't exist if you press stop to the channel, it does what it should do. The problem is when changing from Live TV/NPVR direct to another video source like a movie, it then continues on.
Would you like me to go through a quick sequence of starting npvr, launch xbmc, play live tv, change to other video source then exit xbmc. That seems to be what causes the problem.
