At this point barring bugs or additional feature requests I think I'm done, or at least done for now. The only thing I have left is implementing the genre icons. The thing is, I don't see any genre icons when I use the default skin (I do see where they are rendered in the XML), so I don't have anyway to figure out what they should look like so I can implement them in the confluence skin.

The only programatic thing I can think of that's on the "future" list is if I could get episode and/or series images in the ListItem control so I can add them to the side bar as you scroll through stuff, and that can certainly wait.

I have been using the X-NEWA Web client as my only NextPVR client for over four months and apart from a few Gotham related problems which I will report elsewhere it is more reliable than the Windows client. However I have been watching the recent changes to the main X-NEWA client with interest because as Martin admitted some months ago it still had a few “rough edges”.

For me “What’s New” is by far the most used NextPVR menu item but in X-NEWA its been relegated to a few lines at the bottom of the default screen. Although a more detailed “Upcoming Recordings” is an option on the “NPVR Options” screen a more detailed “What’s New” isn’t.

Ok, I will consider I have the master repo now. Send me any changes that you'd like added. Feature requests and bug reports appreciated.

I never bothered with this when I made the screens look like NextPVR screens. Originally they looked like the recurring recording screen and there was space for images up top.

The values in the database sent from NEWA are usually wrong. I don't bother updating it with iGL because sub's skins don't display it and even then the only valid ones would be files processed with iGL.

EEEks Martin, I'm jumping in! I've been following this thread all along. pkscout you have done some marvellous work here taking Martin's (and UJB's) XNEWA to a higher graphical level.

Martin have I missed something? I just want XNEWA to be an option under LiveTV and not Programs because currently that is where it should be? And I know you are being loyal to sub because we all are but surely your experiments help to feed his?

Boring old me and very best regards to all

pkscout has a skin mod that gives you x-newa under LiveTV. I leave sub's addon disabled and get to x-newa under Videos as I have explained http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post444702 I mainly use web client, so the overhead of the PVR addon calling home every few minutes isn't needed.

thanks Martin, I missed that one. But needed that hint Big Grin No disrespect to sub but he is only working within the boundaries set by xbmc.

Your work as usual is brilliant, thanks Martin, thanks UJB, and thanks pkscout for sexing up the skin. And of course thanks sub for NextPVR in the first place! Off to investigate and play.

very warm hugs

The box is small showing 5 items (instead of 7 in NextPVR) but it does have 10 items. If you want more, use the All Recordings there is Sort option for Date Descending.

Here is 2.4.0~beta1 (probably a release candidate Release Notes

2.4.0-beta1
- skin can be configured in Settings
- added option to sort recurring recordings by title, channel, or priority to Classic Skin
- fixed some Windows file name issues for images
- added setting recurring priority support for NEWA 2.13
- added new JSON call for recordings summary for NEWA 2.13

Note I had to change skin.confluence to Default otherwise it would always load.

Two things:

1- There seems to be some kind of new(or retrograde) bug in XNEWA_Connect.py. With the 2.40~beta1 if I go to All Recordings I get a message that the NextPVR server can't be contacted. The home screen loads fine, as does everything else. I copied XNEWA_Connect.py from the 2.3.1~beta5 I had and everything worked fine after that. I've attached a log of the problem. I do see a 405 being returned from NEWA.

2- I think the "classic" skin still needs to be the default. The Confluence skin is not stand alone (it has references to include and image files only available in Confluence). So if someone is using a skin other than Confluence, the skin I did won't work. I'd suggest they be listed as "Default" and "Confluence."

BTW, the behavior you were seeing with the Confluence addon skin loading no matter what is the standard behavior as I understand it. The "Default" skin is the one used if there is no skin that matches the name (string id really) of the currently selected main skin. So the other option is to not give people a choice between the Classic addon skin and the skin specific addon skin (if available). The advantages there are that a user doesn't have to do anything to get a display that matches their skin and the user can't accidentally pick a skin that won't work. The obvious disadvantage is that the user can't opt for the Classic skin if there is a skin specific skin available.
