I have the following challenge and any help from others experience would be appreciated. I am running a Windows 10 PC as my HTPC server, with Nextpvr as the backend and recording live tv OTA to a set of HDD's. From there I am running comskip to delete the commercials. Using the x-newa add on, it works great on my HTPC. The challenge I'm having is actually getting the commerical-less recording to run to the android box I have connected to my other tv's in the living room and bedroom. I have the x-newa addon installed and running on them. It does all of the functions it should, shows the recording and upcoming recordings, guide, etc. but the recordings it plays still have the commercials in them. I've been searching forums and how-to's and can't seem to get a good answer on how to bring them to my tv android box. Frankly, in the ideal world, I'd like to just have them populate under the tv -> recordings in my home screen in kodi, but from what I've read that doesn't seem to be an option. I'd appreciate anybody's expertise in this.

I have added the advancedsettings.xml file to my userdata file on the Win10 machine, and added the parallelprocessing.bat to my scripts file but i'm at a loss as to why it doesn't work.

You need to share your recordings directory and have advancedsettings.xml on all your players. Alternatively if you record directly to a share with \\ip\sharename notation it should just work.

recordings directory is shared, added advancedsettings.xml to players, but the odd thing was there wasn't a userdata folder on them. only android/data/org.xmbc.kodi/files

Please forgive my ignorance, I'm completely new to this and attempting to get it set up to emulate the tivo as best i can. If I record to a share with \\ip\sharename, would I have to change the location in kodi, nextpvr, etc, or would simply changing it in nextpvr direct the rest of the stuff to the correct place.

Linux and Android file systems hide folders beginning with periods. Look deeper in that folder for .kodi/userdata

If you record to \\ip\sharename that should be passed to Kodi ok and x-newa in theory should translate that to smb://ip/sharename/

Neither of these require being done in conjunction with one another, correct? I'm thinking the IP share may be best (aka easier) but would the IP be the IP of the host PC?

Yes the named share is probably easiest, that is what I use. The IP is the IP of your file server, it could be the host PC or a NAS.
