Understood the distinction between NextPVRServer.exe and NextPVRService.exe may be confusing. I am not too worried that others will have the same problem as you but I thought I was hoping we could explain it.

Martin

I appreciate your help on trying to solve this issue. The fact that I was able to setup 4.2.5 in under 1 minute to allow remote access and verify that it works, leads me to believe that this is a software issue or an installation issue. I found that NPVR5 would operate via npvrserver only. I get the feeling that this model is for those that want a web-based PVR much like TVheadend.

I am willing to continue to help try to solve this problem however I would like the following so that I know I am doing things right. What is the correct order for installation? What program should I use to diagnose the webserver portion? What web browser works the best for the server? Is the download version form the main page correct?

To others that it has worked for what did they do? What steps did they follow?

I have reset my router 3 times and reinstalled windows 10 once just to make sure I had a clean install. I installed it on another pc to see if that made any difference. I plain can't get it to work and honestly tired of spending hours on something that will be used for a handfull of times...

Configuration is web based but everything else about v5 should be like v4

No need to keep installing, go to a command prompt and run ipconfig to confirm your ip address for your PC Then go to the folder where you installed and run NextPVRServer.exe and leave it running it would also confirm that it is running on 8867. Do not class the command prompt.

From the browser goto to the ip:8867/index.html. In the command window you should see some connection into

Followed your steps, I can get localhost:8867/index.html to load.  When I put the ip of the server (using the server machine) I am not able to get that same page to load. I have not tried it from a different pc.

localhost/index to localhost/settings transfer of webpage causes a refused connection by localhost.  When I am done with my current recording on 4.2.5, I will shut down the 4.2.5 server and work with it

Just a suggestion - did you turn the server firewall off?
