Sub, Martin, Here is my log file. NPVR only shows the AverMedia device as an ATSC (digital) device. It does not show the NTSC tuner that it has. 

I am using V4 not V5. I did install the WinTV8 and run SoftPVR after the installation. All of this was fresh - not an overwrite.

I am guessing the 885 is the quadHD tuner so it doesn't have analog

I do see that WinTV didn't install SoftPVR for you, you might need to do it manually.

Martin, If I ever get this to work I will write up a how to for NPVR. You are right I had to install SoftPVR manually.

Since the v4 wiki is read only there won't be much point but if we get this going with v5 that would be fantastic.

Will this experiment we are doing work the same in V4 or V5 since I am only testing with V4?

No but I I am hoping that we can use the dshow name in v5 that this creates. Also it might make you reconsider the quality of digitally captured FM sound compared to internet radio.

Still no luck with finding the device.

Yes and I even loaded the media player it came with.

Where you able to get FM working with this player?

Martin, not with the WinTV only with the AVerMedia player

Oh it did work with the Media Portal system.
