I totally agree with that one. Sub has done some great work giving us something that would retail for a lot of cash.

Any plans to release the source so the gb-pvr community can contribute?

Nope. GB-PVR will never be open source.

Open source may be good for end users, it is bad for small independant software developers that try to make a living by selling software. The existance of open source software is eroding the value of software market in general. Even if I give away GB-PVR, the argument still applies.

I have the theatrix 550 and gbpvr works beautifully with it..now I just have to figure out how to use it!

gbpvr is not meant for editing your old footage..you might want to look into virtuadub or virtualdubmod as it would benefit you to capture the vhs sources and edit them in .avi before compressing down to .mpg. I have also done this using virtuadub and TMPGENC Mpeg encoder.

Hi,

Since there haven been a definite answer, I will ask it again: Will the next version of GB-PVR fully support the CyberLink Remote Controller.

The information (for what there is...) about the Remote Controller on Cyberlink is (http://www.gocyberlink.com/english/cs/su...ubmit=go):
Q: Can I use Cyberlink Remote Control to access any other products?
A :
Yes. If the Application or software claim that it supports Microsoft HID, It means that the Remote Control can control it. You can make a simple test with Media Player.

Personnally, every basic functions of the remote works, except for the four color buttons Sad and the others ones about the DVD control (Language, Menu, Subtitle, etc...)

Hopefully, this will be fixed in the up-coming version... Right, Sub??

No, the next release will not support the Cyberlink remote.

I asked ATI to supply one, but they didnt, so there will be no support for the remote.

I get no sound in GB-PVR, no deinterlacing, probably because I have a PAL version which is not supported. The only program that works is CyberLink PowerCinema V4 (V3 bundled on CD freezes on first time setup), Beyond TV - no sound too.

sub: if there is any way I can help without sending the card let me know.

BTW, there is some CyberLink remote control functionality if you select MCE remote in setup and even without it, since many keys simulate keyboard.

I developed GB-PVR in New Zealand, which is a PAL country, and I use a PAL ATI 550, so GB-PVR should support you PAL device just fine.

When I first got my ATI 550, it produced no sound in any application other than PowerCinema which was bundled with it. Eventually ATI released drivers which corrected the issue with our local sound system not being supported. I'm guessing you've got a similar problem? Are you using the drivers that came on CD, or the latest version downloaded from their website?

I have the latest drivers (6.14.10.86). There are many different PAL variants, Latvia (it's not in the list) AFAIK uses PAL-B, maybe New Zealand has different PAL. In other tuners it worked OK if choosed China as country, in PowerCinema I needed to choose China too even though Latvia was in the list, otherwise no sound. I still haven't tried all countries in GB-PVR if that makes a difference, maybe something works.

We use PAL-B/G, and I'm currently running 6.14.10.76

Have a look at the table at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/defaul...nments.asp and find a country that has the same parameters as yours and try that...Its funny that lists latvia as SECAM_D. The microsoft tuning tables or ATI drivers seemed to stuffed for eastern europe based on past problems.

Have a search though, another guy gaspika(?) had this problem in the past. He was from hungary. I think he got it sorted.
