pluto tv recordings just space travel thing and not completing

spoke too soon. Had two manual recordings on pbr friday and saturday night both recorded but only the warp speed screen and only for around a minute when both were scheduled as a two hour timeframe. One had transcoding on for cpu which converted to an mp4 like its supposed to and then last nights was a native format wondering if transcoding was the problem. I setup another recording for tonight for a different channel. Im trying to find out if its these manual recordings that are having issues or just recording pbr channel in general like you had first thought. Ive attached the logs again, but what is it youre looking for in them? If i know then maybe i can figure out more on my own and then go post a bug with streamlink.

Looks need to be zipped and under 2MB as created by the web app.

Sub's built in transcoding might not be sufficient to deal with really bad timestamps. I noted your frustration will be less if you focus on pbr or just don't try and skip.

the zip i attached was from the webapp and i am trying to focus on pbr but clearly pbr isnt working so im testing other things trying to figure out why pbr isnt working. I also was ready just to not skip or transcode with another program and import to kodi another way but these past recordings did not finish, but again i dont know if thats pbr not airing as scheduled or pbr in pluto not working, it being a manual recording or what. Theres so many dang variables in the mix that it makes it very hard to figure this out and theres no consistency either. My not transcoded recording of this old house seems to have worked and if i dont skip it plays in the desktop app so im going to go try your version of the plugin and set up a manual recording for tonight and see if that works.

I did a command line test and I think there is a bug in the plugin for that channel, not sure about others.

does work but no doubt it will break other things so it is worth reporting this issue on github https://github.com/streamlink/streamlink/issues

For now you need to choose which you want.

What is the command line test you did? I also see an error when i run xmltv-update but its related to the lock file and the last line run in that operation so the xml update works fine even though it errors. Ive fixed the error myself but ive reverted it because if i need to update ever it will just blow out my change anyway and it doesnt appear to affect anything. Im a 20 year programming veteran so im not afraid to fork my own version of the plugin to fix this channel issue if i can find out what it is.

it was 2.2 but it showed it attached ok. I regenerated the logs again now and its under 2mb so you should see them

Thanks but no information on transcoding there. In general Kodi is pretty spammy on it's own and you have really exasperated the problem by running an EPG update each hour triggering Kodi to get the new listings.

I gave you the CLI test early in this thread.

i havent been testing in kodi for anything yet, its all been the npvr web or desktop app and the epg update is run from windows task scheduler to call the bat file hourly. The command line thing sub did wasnt working properly and there wasnt any indication if it ran or why it didnt work and the guide was never updated. I did a test of another channel last night, then transcoded it with handbrake and that recording is fine and the full hour it was supposed to be.

I was hoping the logs would show why this past fri and sat night recordings only recorded a couple minutes instead of the 2 hours i scheduled each recording for. The one thing i keep finding is recordings work fine during the guides current 6 hour window. Its when theres a manual recording outside of the window that it doesnt work, but only on pbr. Which is why i was asking about the test you did so i could see the error myself and try to correct it or try on the streamlink forums and see if they had any further insight.

PBR seems to have alot of wrap speed breaks and for longer than other channels. I wonder if streamlink keys off these screens and maybe doesnt expect them to be longer than a certain amount?

You may not be testing Kodi but it is running so it is filling logs very quickly because of the EPG updates.  It is unlikely you can get any support for problems that aren't captured within a couple of hours unless you turn off Kodi.
