Has anyone else even tried this? I'm just spoiled is all.

Looking at just a few of their forums posts will show that many others are not happy with it in it's current form (beta).

The only reason Yahoo Go TV (Meedio) has come into this conversation is for using it's TV Listings cache to convert to XMLTV and import into gbpvr.

Well it made me take out my wallet and send sub another donation. Smile I realized even more how much he does, how much I use it and how free it is!

Now's a good time to remind others to chime in with some $$$ especially now that the landmark v1 is due out soon.

Just how do we get the listings from Yahoo tv in order to convert them? Doesn't Yahoo use Zap2it as well?

As fender said. The Yahoo app is only installed so we can get the guide listings. Almost everyone uses Zap2it: Yahoo, Ms Media Center, etc... but they will keep functioning after the cutoff and they pay a high premium for this.

Pastro and myself are working on the program to convert the listings. Oz is also working on a different method. We will have something for you very soon.

I've no doubt it'll be done and sooner than the deadine and I'm very appreciative. Wish I knew enough to help out in that regard but if you only knew how bad I am in math. Smile

While I appreciate the plug, its all your work.
I was starting to look at remote scheduling using titanTV as an additional way to access shows you want to record (not for the epg)
You can get the current remote schedule, but the format isn't XML. It looks to be mime encoded or something of the like. Anyone know?

FirstTeamOPS Wrote:I picked one of these threads to ask this question... any chance there will be a plugin that allows one click recording of shows from TitanTV?

I liked the feature to schedule a recording from the favorites menu with one click back when I was using the WinTV software. My guess is the answer is no because it looks like this is a server side option and it doesn't look like there is a generic option on the "PVR/Tuner Device Preferences" screen.

I brought this up in the early part of this thread (posts 183 & 190). It seems like a viable approach to me. I looked at the data it sends and I don't think it really matters what device you specify. In any case, it could be written to expect a specific one that you'd select in your profile. You don't really have to have the device installed.

I'd imagine that a browser plug-in could be written that would take the data from your selection and schedule a recording in GB-PVR. I've never written anything like that but it might be interesting to try.

The upside would be that you wouldn't need to download several meg of data every night. Downside is that you'd need a browser running...probably not a show-stopper for many folks. It's a different approach but I think it could be made to work.

It's not a replacement for the EPG, since it only sends the shows you want to record. You wouldn't be able to browse the listings. Not sure how that fits in the framework of GBPVR. Getting the data doesn't seem that hard, but unless yours is different, mine doesn't show up in any recognizable format.

Simple enough, base64 encoded.
Decoding it turns it into an XML file.

I'd be interested in something like this. Maybe as a plugin for those that would use it? Maybe an option for those that don't want to pay for listings (Sub mentioned that it's a Work in Progress), but don't mind using a browser?

I'm not convinced yet that Yahoo! won't figure out what's going on and somehow disable access unless it's from its client or that Titan TV won't figure out all of the UUIDs that are being used and disable them.
