(I think I have a congenital problem with all of these programs, they just don't use terminology and a structure that matches by brain's picture of how this is supposed to work.) If there is an Event Ghost file that includes both Neflix Viewer and GBPVR (PVRX2) I'd certainly like to take a look at it. @DH - Is your file different than the one that's included with the Netflix Viewer download? If not, you can PM me what you have and I'll give it a try. I'll also take a look at the one that comes with the download.

Thanks for the offer.

It is different. I'll send it to you tonight. Event ghost is an awesome program and it is realively easy to pick up once you understand how it works. If you want help learning it I'd be happy to help via e-mail or PM, or what not.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
I had a few other issues as well:

The program started Firefox (the default browser) to log in to Netlflix. I understood that IE was required for this in order to set the right token. If so, could you explicitly call IE rather than the default browser?

In the small login dialog box, the keyboard number keys (top row) did not work. :eek: The keypad keys did however, but I could not enter the @ of the e-mail address. I tried this several times with the same result.

OK, thanks for the heads up. I'll test it out, in the mean time you can just log into netflix through IE separately and you won't have to enter anything to link up my program. Just make sure you tell the website to remember you.

I just downloaded and tried your Netflix Viewer and also got an unhandled exception when running it the first time(XP sp3). The database was only partially filled. I have tried running the Database Build program but it just flashes up too quickly to see anything and then quits with no error messages. Am I doing something wrong? Are there any command line switches for the Database program?

The main viewer program works fine and looks very good, I just can't populate the database. Thank you for all your good work.

Hi Jeff,

If the database doesn't complete, you just have to go into your .ini file and change the line "Time to renew=7" to "Time to renew=1". then rerun the database builder.

The program doesn't realize that the build didn't succeed, so it won't run again for 7 days (per the setting above). Setting this to 1 it will run everytime you open the database builder program. If you set it back to 7 it will run once per week even if you call it every day.

If you need more help let me know. Also, if you get the unhandled exception again please copy the results and post them here, so I can troubleshoot.

Thanks,

-DH

Thanks for responding so quickly. Didn't know you would get back so quick so I just deleted everything and started over. It ran through with no problems and populated the database. Program works great. Only wish I had found it before I ordered another Roku box.

I try to respond as soon as possible, I'm glad you got it working. If you haven't already, please take a moment to rate my app at: http://www.netflix.com/AppDisplay?id=212...gl-it-2121

Hi, running WinXP SP2, .Net 3.5

On first run I too got the unhandled exception messages - after killing the process and renewing the MSIE) login I ran again and the main program Netflix TX Desktop appeared to start the db build program but hung at step 1 at 70% complete.

Again, killing the process and emptying the MovieInfo folder and deleting the movieinfo.ldb - then rerunning Desktop produced the same result.

Running the Desktop prog only launches the database updater never see the desktop itself.

I do see that the movieinfo.ntf file is untouched and original size (write permission is enabled btw)

Changed time to renew back to 7 but the Desktop prog still appears to launch the Database Build prog.

Ooops - one time it did get complete step 1 and proceeded to step 2, during which it gave err code 14523 for each of the first 16 of 14523 movies then hung again.

I'd sure like to get this running Wink -- do you have any ideas what I can do to help you debug this? -or that I can do differently?

Thanks

Just gave you a 5 star rating. One other problem I have is the help file doesn't seem to work. It shows a table of contents but the main body shows "Navigation to the webpage was canceled".

I was looking for an easy way to switch genre's with the remote control. Is there some other way than going through the Ctl-O menu.

PS Googled for .chm problem and found I had to right click on the help.chm file and click "unblock" and now help works. I didn't see any easy way to switch genre's other than going into the setup menu. A nice feature would be to let right and left arrow keys cycle through genre's when scrolling through the movie list.

Good idea, I always felt the ctrl-o option was a bit cumbersome to change genres. I'll add it to the to do list.
