FYI: This plugin continues to work in initial tests with NextPVR 3.x. So there should not be any issues with upgrading to the NextPVR 3.1.1

I will however be releasing YT 2.0 this weekend anyway.

Hi Whurlston,

The new plugin seems to install really well, but I can't work out how to migrate the old youtube.xml into it?
Any hints?

Sorry, there is currently no way to migrate the old youtube.xml. If you can wait until tonight, I'll try to add something to the settings screen to import the old settings. I also intend on adding a "Search history".

It appears that the version in the first post is the old version of YouTube, where can I find the finished new version?

On the wiki: http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...in.YouTube

I hadn't announced it or started a new thread for it yet because I still have to finish up the wiki instructions. I will try to get that done this weekend along with the config migration.

I find it gets as far as building the list and buffering, then nothing seems to happen, apart from sometimes leaving a short blank .ts file on disk. What am I missing? Thanks for a great plugin, btw, can't wait to get it working...

Update: some videos work, others don't and I can't tell why! If anyone can make sense the attached log, I'd be eternally grateful (well, for 15 minutes at least). Smile

PS: One more thought - I use FFMPEg to decode all except H.264. Maybe I need to enable some of the decoder options? But which?

OK, so now there's another angle to this. Some YouTube videos prompt a .Net error dialogue box that complains about the file name being too long. Is this a separate error or a manifestation of the same thing?

Some of the encryption algorithms have changed and the youtube-dl project have moved to an auto decrypt routine instead of updating the decryption routines that I was pulling from them. I've known about the issue for a while but never had time to look into it until now.

Attached is a patch that should fix the problem.

Instructions for patch:
  1. Replace the "Plugins\YouTube\youtube.*" files with the matching files in the zip (.dll and .pdb). (Exit NextPVR first.)
  2. Place "parser.aspx" from the zip in your "web\public\youtube" folder. All other files in this folder can be removed because they are no longer used by this patch. It doesn't hurt anything to leave them though.

This patch no longer relies on the youtube-dl project. It now finds and uses the javascript decryption routines directly from youtube.

Separate error. Are you able to copy and post the error text (wrap in a code tag or upload it as an attachment)?
