Squid,

I don't understand. Are you talking about ATI's DTV? Are you saying you can't see the video? I had that problem with mine in that channels broadcasting at 1080i I couldn't see the video but got the audio. I could record and then play back. I figured the problem was with my video card, not the HDTV Wonder. I have since moved that card to my lesser PC so I don't watch that one anymore.

I could always watch on GBPVR though.

Bigbus,

The DTV program that comes with the HDTV Wonder card throws up a warning saying that it cannot use the overlay mode, and says "Hit Ok for low performance mode". If I hit OK it works, but there is a 60+ second delay in the initial startup of the program. It works fine in GB-PVR in overlay mode through VMR9 (custom), it was just wierd that DTV started to give errors when nothing changed.

My HDTV GB-PVR computer is coming along though, I am still frustrated by alot of dropped frames on recording. Which could be a computer horsepower issue, or a signal issue or a codec issue. I'm having trouble isolating the problem.

Ok, I understand now. I never saw that error before. The main problem I had with their software was I couldn't watch 1080i on the PC. I would get a black screen. It would work if I recorded a file and watched later.

I also have a signal problem where I live. I am very susceptible to weather conditions and get signal drops. With strong signals, the HDTV Wonder card should do well.

I have got the HDTV wonder card and I am trying to set it up with GB-PVR using the analog tuner, no digital stations(yet). I have got it added, I just need to set up the channels I think. I can go into GB-PVR and when I go to the live tv, all I get is a blue screen, but it does have the right channels, which I assume it got from zap2it. I can't figure out how to use TS Reader lite. What option do I choose when I first start up and it asks to select the input source? There is a big list and I have no idea which one to choose. ANy help is appreciated, thanks.

This is the format for channels you need to input manually
for the HDTV Wonder.

Like this example:
T:58,2,1~P:3~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~N:>02.1 WJBK-DT

It consists of sections separated by ~
The sections are initiated by a label designation followed by a colon, as

T:
~P:
~V:
~A:
~PMT:
~N:

Sections
T: has three parts with commas between

The real channel
, The "virtual" channel - normally what the analog channel number was
, The sub-channel - normally the main sub-channel is 1

~P:
A number from 1 to 6. Usually starting with 3 for the main channel
and going up by 1 per sub-channel, but does sometime start with 1.
Program number.

~V:
a number from 49 to 113.(increments of 16)
PID of a stream of video.
Always 1 more than PMT.

~A:
a number from 52 to 116.(increments of 16)
PID of a stream of audio
Always 4 more than PMT. Or 5 more for an alternate language (Spanish).

~PMT:
a number from 48 to over 112.
PID of PMT, if that tells you anything
Always 48 for the main channel, then 64, 80, 96, 112 (increments of 16)

~N:>
a name for the channel. > perhaps indicates text rather numerical info?

The table is a lot easier to create than it may seem. Three out of the
five sections don't really need to be found with a special program.
They are always like this:

V:49~A:52~PMT:48 <-- for the main sub-channel
V:65~A:68~PMT:64 <-- for the next sub-channel, if any
V:81~A:84~PMT:80 <-- next, if any
V:97~A:100~PMT:96 <-- next, if any
V:113~A:116~PMT:112

If all you want is the main sub-channel, which is likely, you only need the
first one. Stations, except for PBS stations, generally only
have two sub-channels.

Now for the "T" section. The "true" channel number, you can look up on the
Internet, once you know the virtual channel number, which you do probably
already know, since it is the number the analog channel has always used. That
gives you the first two parts. The next part is 1 for the main channel. 2
for the next, if any, etc.

The hardest part to guess is the "P" section. Most station start with 3 for
the main sub-channel, and go up by one for additionals. But some start with 1.

That leaves the last section, the "N" section. It is a > mark followed by
text characters. It is the virtual channel number, followed by a period,
followed by the sub-channel number, followed by a space. This is followed
by some text. The most likely info for this text is the stations call letters
followed by -HD, less often -DT, sometimes with a space in the place of
the -. If there are additional sub-channels, the most likely info for the
next one is the stations call letters followed by -SD.
