IMHO this is very impressive... Wink

The following might not be worth looking at but it would sure help me:

Option to NOT lookup IMDB when Loading movies into DB - Most/All of my mpegs are individual tracks cut from music concert recordings so they ain't going to be on IMDB.

And a possible problem... I managed to load the same mpegs into the DB twice - if you Cancel a Load after a few videos have been processed and then imediately Load again, it Loads them twice. Appologies probably due now but I tampered with the DB :o - I added Location as a unique key - redid the Load/Cancel/Load thing again and got an Unhandled exception in Manager - might be worth adding this key and handling this error gracefully - I suspect a lot of MovieWiz newbies (like me) might end up with duplicate DB entries...

Still EXTREMELY impressive though... Thks

Good idea, I'll add a check box on settings to skip the lookup on load.

Also, I noticed the problem with the dup key also. In new version I have also set Location as unique, and put code in (for older versions of DB) to bypass any dup key insert.

I would like it if the entries I remove from the first page stays removed. In the meaning that they do not populate the list the next search either. Unless I uncheck a checkbox called 'Hide removed'. If I remove a tv-serie or short films, it's a lot of entries to remove every time.

And I do like il1019's wish for folders, maybe folders could be treated as categories. But maybe with a possibility to remove them from 'All movies' category.
If entries are removed from the load page, and they need to remain removed (ie. not show up) on future loads, I would have to load them into the db (so I can persist the fact that your removed them once) and mark them as hidden. This may cause the db to be larger than neccessary.

What I might do, is add this feature as an option. On the settings tab, maybe a check-box for 'remember removed files' or something. I'll think about it.

A few folks have asked for some kind of folder feature. I am thinking about how I might implement this, but have not settled on a design yet.

I've been playing with 'Categories' as a way of creating music style Playlists...

I like the flexible way you have implemented the Category feature
  • I can get rid of the standard ones and/or put in my own
  • I can add a category, assign tracks to it, rename the category and the tracks go with it
  • Assign multiple categories to a track
Solid DB design... Wink

Quote:I am thinking of adding a category function (i guess you could use it as a playlist. It may not be too hard to add a play-all function, I'll put it on the list and see what I can do.
A 'play-all' function (especially if you could add an optional 'Random' facilty) would just about do it for me...Big Grin

One last question (for now anyway...) - The OSD with the progress meter and stuff (pops up when you move the mouse over the PVRX2 window while a movie is playing) - is that skinnable? - I've looked through the blue skin/2, but can't find anything

Anyway, great bit of code - Thanks a lot...

I just found it in 'skin2\blue\OSD' :o so new question... If I code my own version of Placement "VideoShowInfo" (and all the rest that goes with it) in 'skin2\blue\MovieWiz's skin.xml, would that just apply to MovieWiz?

I believe that would apply to any playing video. I did not code the OSD skin, so I think that is controlled at the PVRX2 level.
