Hmm, "blip", that's set me thinking...

I've just remembered something from the release notes from a previous GB-PVR version.

IIRC it was something to do with misbehaving BDA drivers that continued to send data after a recording finished.

Again, IIRC, something was implemented to stop this and presumably is still present in current releases.

So the thought occurs that this might be the culprit.

I have the problem of recordings stopping on the Nova-T #2tuner when a recording on the #1 stops as well as the one dying early (post#32).

I've since found out I was mistaken in that the WAF had set a program to record at the same time last Saturday (Eurovision song contest :eekSmile. That recorded fine but as reported earlier, ER died with no reported errors.

I'm using the Nova-T and a Leadtek PCI tuner but the Leadtek isn't in use when the recordings terminate early.

I'm using the ATI mux as I always had problems with the Cyberlink losing audio sync during recording.

I'm using the latest Hauppauge BDA driver although I've noticed it's not exactly new (4.3.25080 dated 21/03/2007)
NPVR Version= 7.0.2.250621
Intel i5 Ten Core 14400 + 16GB DDR5 in Gigabyte B760 AX Motherboard
Windows 11 Pro 64bit
TBS-6902 dual DVB-S tuner
TBS-6205 quad DVB-T tuner
500Gb System Disk (M2 Nvme SSD)
4Tb Media Store (2 x 2Tb M2 Nvme SSD Spanned)

Raspberry Pi3 B+, Pi4B (OSMC) & Pi5 (XBian) running Kodi v21.1

in post #14, blzbubb claimed that this had never happened to him prior to 1.1.5 and I certainly don;t ever recalling seeing this problem before, prior to the one time it happened to me (besides deliberately trying to force the problem).

[edit]: I don;t know where blzbubb is from but otherwise it's all Brit problem atm - how odd.

I believe I saw this in versions prior to 1.1.5 but due to it's seemingly random and infrequent nature during normal recording I didn't make the connection.

I guess this is something I can test as I have some previous versions.

So far I have managed to reproduce this issue with versions 0.98.13b and 0.95.16 which is the oldest version I have.

yeah I’m a brit too. Smile

My setup is:

1 x PVR 150 MCE
1 x Nova-T-500

I was running v99.12 with no problems at all with some overlapping reoccurring recordings, which since upgrading to the latest version result in the truncation of one of the recordings. I changed no other settings mux, drivers etc etc which is why I think it is purely an issue with this latest build. Just the same as you guys though I cant get any useful log info at the time of the problem happening.

So Bobins has this problem with the ATI mux so it isn't mux specific or gbpvr version specific, just nova-t 500 specific atm.

We really need some input from Sub on this one but I know he is very busy atm. I think we may have to wait until he has some more time to look at this.

This happened today on a dedicated pvr machine with one t-500 card (no other tuners) running one MVP. EWA's Auto-Recording feature set up the recordings. All recordings set up for 5 mins pre and post padding, all recordings on channel 'Dave'.

3:00 - 3:30 PM TOTP2 recorded fine (using tuner 1)
3:30 - 4:00 PM TOTP2 recorded fine (using tuner 1)
MVP/TV not switched on.

6:00 - 6:30 PM TOTP2
6:30 - 7:00 PM TOTP2

I switched the MVP/TV on at about 6:15 PM (TV Guide showed recording in progress) and started watching news on STV. At exactly, 6:25 (according to TV Guide) TV got kicked back to the TV Guide. I picked up the remote and pressed Play, the news came back on.

Later I checked the recordings and the DB...

The 6:00 show had recorded on tuner 1 and finished at 6:35
The 6:30 show had started recording on tuner 2 and finished at 6:25 (when I brought the TV back on) creating a 1,625 byte file.

I don't understand why it would try to use a different tuner when the TV is on, or why I could start the TV while both tuners were active.

Anyway, the same shows are scheduled to record tomorrow, so I'm going to recycle the system at lunch time and see if I can get some decent logs.

I'm probably not going to have time to do anything about it before the next release (due in a few days), but the more logs you can post showing the error the better. Also include a description of what recordings were suppose to occur, and what times.

Well I'm going to try out GB-PVR on Vista, when I get time I'll try to see if it happens under Vista as well.
