BlinkyBill Wrote:Sub, it's almost there. I have the same problem as sbiddle - the first launch of a channel gets no sound, on LiveTV or the Guide, then changing to another channel fixes that. I still have no sound on TV3 no matter what I do, using the PowerDVD Audio Decoder (PDVDV8). I also note channel swapping to TV3 from TV2 or TV7 (i.e. either side of TV3) doesn't change the video, you get a screenshot of TV2 or 7 respectively.

Still - it's looking very good at this point!

Cheers,
Bill.

Maybe a re-scan of tv3 is in order, right up until launch they were switching between AC3 and AAC.

They may have done that again. Also if they are AC3 at the moment, then what you're playing with wont help.

I had my TV3 being processed by AC3Filter and coming out as Dolby Digital....but have't looked at it for a week or so.

Dooouuuh!

Re-scanned and now all is good on TV3. Thanks Psycik.

Now all I have is the channel changing issue:
- no sound on the first channel selected; sound is played on a channel change
- seems to have some problems after a number of channel changes. Inconclusively it seems to be after going through TV3, but I need to try other permutations.

Bill.

Reproduce the problem then post the logs and I'll take a look. Also post a good desciption of what you tried doing, and what you saw happen.

Alas mine is not working. When I play a TV1 DVB-T file I get audio but scrambled video but the same file plays fine in PDVD8.

Out of interest for TV3 did you try recording a short segment and seeing if that plays in PDVD8? That might help isolate the problem.

I think its just you. Big Grin You seem to be having more problems than anyone else.

Have you tried the different video renderer options on the playback tab of the config app? Overlay, VMR9 Custom, VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive and EVR..

I suspect life will be easier when you actually setup your DVB-T card and H.264 capable video card.

You're probably right. I tried all options and the same problem (well apart from EVR which is not supported it said). I currently use VMR9 Custom. But interestingly how PDVD8 has no problem so perhaps it bypasses the normal method of displaying video?

Try playing a file then post the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Its because of this. You need to leave your config.xml set to <PreferredAACLATMAudioDecoder>MONOGRAM AAC Decoder</PreferredAACLATMAudioDecoder>.

This patch and <UsePowerDVD8ForTS> setting only affects playback of recordings, and will automatically use the 'CyberLink Audio Decoder (PDVD8)' during playback. Live TV is unchanged, and still needs the monogram decoder for now, and will read the decoder name from <PreferredAACLATMAudioDecoder>. It was the problem with audio/video sync during playback that I wanted to solve. I will later provide a patch that also uses the 'CyberLink Audio Decoder (PDVD8)' decoder for live tv, but that'll need to wait until I have a little more time available.

Even though I'd tried to convey this info in my posts here and on geekzone, I probably wasnt clear enough that this was the case.

Oops sorry!

I had read your posts but had edited the file yesterday when I intially installed PDVD8 and was testing that. I thought I had later gone back to my old config file.

I have noticed that playback audio using the Cyberlink codec does seem to be nicer than the same show using the Monogram decoder.
