I just installed CS4-HD and I am quite disappointed as it removed all the CRLF pairs in my config.xml and on top of that the file is corrupt.

What do you mean by corrupt? XML tags not matching or actual corruption? Can you attach a copy?

Could you describe your system state at the time of installation? What apps where running, OS version, etc.

Another item - I can not successfully apply the Black OSD. I select it, and get OSD*, but it does not get applied, and OSD selection remains Blue*.

FYI: It is still as slow as heck when moving between centre, left and right in the layout menu, about 8 secs to move from centre to left after pressing down arrow.

What I did to fix it was removed the first 3 UTF BOM characters before the xml begins, run a macro to put a CRLF after each end tag and then inserted the leading spaces that had also been removed. Everything seemed intact and PVRx2 loads after uninstalling CS4-HD

What apps, nothing unusual for me Firefox, putty, the NMT client, a text editor and a couple of command windows. OS Vista 32 SP1 current.

I backed up my config.xml just tested again and get the same result, all the white space has been removed. PVRx2 is actually not loading because of error loading UbuRadio.XmlSerializers when CS4-HD is installed. Uninstalling CS4 HD fixed this problem.

The "*" shows again the currently selected layout and it now switches between layouts correctly.

The preview image at the bottom of the screen does not change it you switch between glossy and matte but it does for transparent.

I'll give it a test run with UbuRadio and CS4-HD and see if I can duplicate any of this.

To remove these through the plugin, you would have to select the transparent text background graphics. This would however be a global effect and remove all the text backgrounds.

If you want to be a little more surgical and don't mind editing the baseskin.xml you can comment out or delete the references below:

Understood. But I guess I wonder why the "text background" graphic is used behind another graphic element, which is not text?
