jfm,

I had a similar problem with the same channels using Schedules Direct so I have one more suggestion for you before you nuke.

Check the tv_grab_na_dd.conf file (located in the .xmltv subfolder) in your EPG folder, you'll have to open it with notepad. When this happened to me, both the SyFy and ABCF channels were listed as "not channel" and the old SciFi and Fam were listed as "channel" with the correct channel number assigned. I edited the file, changed the new channels to "channel" with the correct channel number then deleted the old channel names and numbers (I guess you could change them to "not channel" if you wanted to keep them for some reason). Saved the file, did an epg update and the channels were there with show information.

Just my two cents, hope it helps.

@dennit

There are 2 channels I want to fix - 67 SYFY and 60 ABCF. I just talked about SYFY to simplify things. I ran changeEPGsources.exe again to get us back to ground zero.

Okay, here's the current situation:

1. Listings for SYFY and ABCF are in the xml file as you see here:

Channel desc:

<display-name>60 ABCF</display-name>
<display-name>60 ABCF GA61404:-</display-name>
<display-name>60</display-name>
<display-name>ABCF</display-name>
<display-name>ABC Family</display-name>
<display-name>Satellite</display-name>

Listing:
<programme start="20091112020000 +0000" stop="20091112040000 +0000" channel="I10093.labs.zap2it.com">

Snowglobe

<desc lang="en">A snow globe transports a woman (Christina Milian) into a holiday winter wonderland.</desc>

----------------------------------------------
Channel desc:

<display-name>67 SYFY</display-name>
<display-name>67 SYFY GA61404:-</display-name>
<display-name>67</display-name>
<display-name>SYFY</display-name>
<display-name>Syfy</display-name>
<display-name>Satellite</display-name>

Listing:
<programme start="20091117180000 +0000" stop="20091117190000 +0000" channel="I10057.labs.zap2it.com">

Ghost Hunters Academy

2. Neither 67 SYFY, 67 SCIFI, nor 60 ABCF appear in config->channels nor capture source channels. Nor do they appear with other channel numbers.

3. None appear in the guide at all

4. db shows following channels:
OID, Name, channelID, channel_number, favourite_channel, display name
75, 67 SCIFI, ---, 0, Y, ---
76, 24 SOAP, ---, 0, Y, ---
Nothing for ABCF nor 60 ABCF

5. DB indicates 3 programs for channel_oid 75 and 1 for channel_oid 76 (24 SOAP which is not offered any more and not in xml).

Here's what I have gleaned from my fooling around:

1. Updating guide will not add SYFY nor ABCF

2. The only way to get one to show in the guide is to add it in one of the capture sources, which I have not done this time

I'm not concerned about 24 SOAP, oid 76. When I delete the file, it should go away. As to SYFY, I can change the fields per your suggestion. Should I do that? And how do we add 60 ABCF?

I checked, and the channels are listed correctly there. Thanks anyway.

I've gone back over this thread, and from what I can see, you don't have SyFy enabled in Schedules Direct. I don't use SD, but if SyFy is not appearing in any source in GBPVR, then it's not in the EPG that SD sends you, and none of the things being recommended will help. You need to get SyFy into the EPG XML file sent by Schedules Direct before GBPVR can do anything with it. I'd log into the account at Schedules Direct and look over the lineup. Maybe someone with more SD experience can help here. Once SyFy is in the XML, we can substitute it for the old SciFi.

OK, I had the same issue with both these channels.

OK, they're in the XML file alright. Normally, GBPVR will see them and add them to the source that's pointed to that XML file. Let's figure out why not.........

Quote:2. Neither 67 SYFY, 67 SCIFI, nor 60 ABCF appear in config->channels nor capture source channels. Nor do they appear with other channel numbers.
Hmmmm....

Quote:3. None appear in the guide at all

This makes sense - if they aren't in config->channels nor capture source channels.

Quote:4. db shows following channels:
OID, Name, channelID, channel_number, favourite_channel, display name
75, 67 SCIFI, ---, 0, Y, ---
76, 24 SOAP, ---, 0, Y, ---
Nothing for ABCF nor 60 ABCF

This makes only limited sense. It makes sense that you don't see SYFY or ABCF in config->channels and capture source channels, since they aren't in the DB. I'm not sure how you got both SCIFI and SOAP into channel 0. I saww that with your first gbpvr.db3

Quote:5. DB indicates 3 programs for channel_oid 75 and 1 for channel_oid 76 (24 SOAP which is not offered any more and not in xml).

I saw this also.

I don't think you want to manually add as that will not correctly link to the guide data. Let me give you a new DB. This will have the two problem channels removed, the records of all recordings and recurring recordings removed and all programs removed. Then put your current GBPVR.DB3 in a safe place, substitute this one and update. Let's see if that gives you SYFY. If it does, then we can easily get back to your original DB, but fixed. If not, there's something else going on. Give me a minute to attach the modified db3 file. It will just be a temporary file to test.
Edit: OK, It's attached - try this DB

Okay, I replaced the db and updated via System->Update EPG. No luck. New channels not showing up in guide nor db.

sub has offered help. I'd send him the gbpvr.db3 and take up his offer.

I don't think I helped any, but at least I may learn something when sub reports back. Let us know how it goes.
