HDHR channel scanning

Any updates to this issue?? I am seeing it as well, win7 32 bit, latest hdhr firmware. I have done some playing with removing channels from qam.ini file and see if I can isolate what is causing the issue, unfortunately for me, its not consistent. During one scan, it gets thru a channel completely, during the next scan, it will lock up on that channel.
Any other way to get the channels mapped??

Unfortunately, I haven't found any resolution to the issue. I suspect it is something funny happening in the network stack in Windows. If you post your zip/provider, there may be someone in your area that has a scan cache file for your area. I will do a writeup on using TSReader to get the information but it will probably be tomorrow night before I can get it complete and posted.

thanks for the update, even if its not good news. I am in 60560 (oswego/plano comcast ) if anyone has a good channel mapping.

Got a question for everyone having issues with the HDHR scanning: Is there anyone having issues who does not have the HDHR connected to a Realtek network card/chip?

I know the system listed in my sig uses Realtek but I'm not at home and don't know if my Dell XPS 400 does. Can't find exact info online right now but that system also has HDHR scanning issues.
Has Silicon been any help with this? I've bumped the post I made and got nada. No but I did find an post on an unrelated incident where they said that there were issues with the Realtek chips and the HDHR. I'm considering getting and Intel based nic and trying it.

I have a toshipa laptop that I think has an Intel nic I can try. I'm pretty sure I tried it wireless and had the same problems though. Might not be able to get to it tonite.

My Dell has an Intel Pro/1000 PL and my laptop a Intel 82567LM Gigabit and both lock during scanning.

New customer to the HDHR and to GB-PVR, and I seem to have fallen into this mess. Win7 64bit and a new HDHR dual tuner hooked to Comcast Cable for QAM. I cannot scan channels, so essentially I can't do anything. Gets to 6 of 19 (i've seen it get as high as 12 of 19, or as low as 4 of 19) and it freezes.
I've tried pretty much every suggestion here. Change decorder settings (have FFDshow installed), tried moving GBPVR to another drive, run in compatibility mode (all of them). I have tried using the default qam.ini and it doesn't find any channels. Used the one that the HDHR software makes and it freezes. I can see all the channels in the HDHR software just fine. I can also use Windows Media Center in Windows 7 without any problems. Using Nvidia Nforce gigabit network card, so no realtek there. Windows firewall disabled. I tried increasing the scan time in the config file and that didn't work. I have an Avermedia M780 QAM internal tuner in this same computer. Using the same Qam.ini file and the same cable, I can scan all 19 frequencies in the qam.ini just fine. Clearly there is some bug. The logs show no exceptions, they just seem to stop. I really want to start using this software, but until a solution comes, I'm going to be stuck using Windows Media Center  Ranger |
