Well as long as the two apps can be installed side by side (WAF+++) I'll happily beta test when that feature is ready.
We bought a bigger house just so I could justify more GBPVR clients to mess with (well that and having a baby.must remember my priorities....)

Mhm, yes. This one looks really slick and nice. The idea of rewriting the codebase was very good, i think. To use an contextmenu within NPVR is new and... i searched 20 Minutes within the tray and the installationfolder for the config.exe. lol

But all the good things i could find until now: The usage of a SoftPVR Encoder to use analog TV is not my case. I have currently 1 HVR-2200, 2 PVR-500 (all three analog) and can't configure them, because they won't be detected. Will you in the next releases change the requirement for the SoftPVR Encoder (which won't be installed on my systems because it don't recognize my tv cards... *chatt*)? And as long analog tv is available here in good old germany, i will use this. And... very important: I am missing FM Radio... *running very fast away from the wraith of sub* *giggle*

Just to be clear, it doesnt actually need any soft encoder for hardware encoder cards like your HVR2200 and PVR500, but it does need the "MainConcept (HCW) MPEG Multiplexer-Plus" filter to be on your machine. You can either get this from installing the Hauppauge WinTV7 software, or someone can give you a copy of the filter and you can register it on your machine.

Ah! That's another thing, the using of the mux alone is a good thing, so i don't have to leave the hardwareencoding capability of the cards (which would be happen with SoftPVR). My ATOM 330 MediaCenters are very thankful to you. ;D

I can see why you're confused over this, but just so you know, the Hauppauge software installs this "MainConcept (HCW) MPEG Multiplexer-Plus" filter into the 'SoftPVR' folder. It is part of the SoftPVR software, even on hardware encoder devices that dont use software encoder filters. I had never intended you to think you would be soft encoding.

Ehm... i liked gb-pvr so much over all the years back, that i never thought to install the hauppaugecrap. On every new machine i just installed the pure devicedrivers for the cards, disabled the Windows Media Catastrophe (xd) and used happily GB-PVR. Thus, till now no need for the WinTV Software. Tongue At least you should know now, why me (and for sure many others) don't know or even have currently this called mux on their pc. ^^

Sub

Great work, but I think I will wait until their is client support before the move since I love the GB-PVR client on my laptop and my server in a closet where it belongs. I was looking to move to Window7 so time to build a new server and give up my old MediaMVP...:-)

Look great! I am excited to try it out. Not sure how I am going to feel about the lack of tweaks. It has been a while since I did a clean reinstall on the GBPVR directory though (5 years maybe).

I hope some of the tweaks come back, as sub mentioned, he lost track of a lot of what many did. With the new settings window, there is plenty of room for more options, and better yet, more ORGANIZED options. I haven't been around here nearly as long as some of these folks and when I wanted to do something specific, someone would have to remember some tweak that did it, usually starting the post with "I think this does it..."

What kind of timeframe is there for the NPVR client? It's a fairly important one for me and while keen to do this upgrade (and move to Win7) would prefere to have it before making the leap.
