sorry to report this issue with updates not deleting thr original time schedule record once added has occurred again in 1.5.33. Anyone else seen it ? ot entirely sure how the process works but the dupe entries occur only when the dBT data comes down when viewing the channel.. ( a channels epg has integrity until the frequency is watched live)

Are you talking about recurring recordings? I didn't quite catch what you are saying in the last message, esp. about EPG and watching frequency alive.

Thanks Reddwarf.. no the issue is a recurring one, where shows are appearing in the EPG overlapping each other . As a progs times are updated and transmitted the new schedule is added to the EPG and the old prog entry remains. (- it should be merely updating the show times of the existing prog) rather than creating a new prog entry. So I end up with a channel 7 current affairs starting at 19:00 finishing at 19:30 and a superinposed channel 7 current affairs starting at 19:02 finishing at 19:30 , fore example.. dont know it affect on recording.. havent tested that .. As progs get nearer, stations tend to update the times in the background. It is just annoying as there are a lot of entries in the EPG (up to 3 per prog) an they overlap, amking the screen unreadable and difficult to navigate. It does affect the experience.. and is a PITA.. needs fixing.. Wasnt an issue in GBPVR, as I was only doing XMLTV updates 1 x daily.

Ah, I see. I had a few incidents like that earlier, so I shut off npvr's auto epgupdate and created a batchfile that runs every morning at 06:00 AM. It just does the commands "NextPVR.exe -emptyepgonly" and "NextPVR.exe -updateepgonly". Seems to work for me, but the bug doesen't go away ofcource Big Grin

The next release has a checkbox for turning off the DVB EPG updates during live tv or recording, which might help in your situation.

Two quick questions:

(A) I'm getting tons of overlapping duplicates on 2.03 (DVB EPG), does anyone have an update on this issue? Or is turning off the EPG updates during live recording the only way out?

Shame as the TV stations are now updating times regularly which makes for more accurate recordings.

(B) Also if 'update during live tv' option is turned off, and live tv still running, can npvr use another spare tuner to do the DVB EPG update at the default time ?

Cheers Smile

I suspect you'd just have to turn off EPG updates during live tv.

No it wouldnt. Best to schedule the EPG update to occur in the middle of the night when you're unlikely to be recording.
