I think your next step is to go back to the wiki and follow the instructions here http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...alogDevice starting with running FilterCheck

Thank you for the link. I was still back at step 1 "Quick Start" which suggested finding my device in settings. Nothing was mentioned their about what to do if you couldn't find it, so I thank you!

malc2 Wrote:I think you may have gotten it. My device is not yet showing up in the NPVR settings, but am I correct in assuming that the same exercise now has to be performed in the SoftPVR folder that is located in my program files under NPVR? Or should the device be showing now?
Here's what happened after deleting the line & running the batch file:
No, you don't need to do anything further relating to SoftPVR. Everything is now done for that. It doesn't matter where the files are installed, as long as they're registered. You did let it register all 3 files, and got 3 "DllRegisterServer succeeded" pop-ups, right? If not, run the same batch file one more time and make sure you let it register all 3 files.

The device should be showing now, if it's not then there are other reasons. Go into NextPVR.exe, view the Devices screen, then exit and post your NPVR.log (zip it). Run Filtercheck while you're at it, and post that log too.

johnsonx42, I tip my hat to you again. I tried the procedure that ACTCMS refered my to, when I got to the part to add the necessary info. to the analog devices configuration file I found that the avc-3610 (my tuner) was one of the listed default tuners so it wasn't going to be necessary to do all that. Then you posted the above procedure. I reran the .bat file, it registered 3 files, and now by device shows up in settings. I know that yesterday it did register some files, but I didn't count how many and I sure don't remember. Anyway all is well for the time being, I've got the majority of my channel work done and then codecs. Oh, what fun.
Thanks
Malc

if you've not worked out the EPG data source yet, I strongly suggest that you use Schedules Direct. They have a free trial, then it's only $20 per year. It's really the only genuinely legal EPG data source for north america, and sub has kindly built-in support for it.

I have Win7Pro SP1 with Directx11 installed. When starting NVPVR, I get the message "WARNING: The Directx runtime is not available on this machine. Software rendering instead."

My TV card is Avermedia's DUET A188. I can get 36 channels though with the simplest of antennas in the world. If I had a better one, I'd get many more around the Washington/Baltimore corridor. Picture is good to superb, depending of course on the position of the station. For audio I am using AC3Filter. Video is ffshow. However, I don't seem to be able to get HD sound. I only get FM sound, even that is sort of. Too, some stations (not weak) stutter, but sound does not disappear. About one year ago when running XP Pro, I was able to get awsome HD sound.

1. Why am I getting the WARNING, though Directx on my computer is at v11?
2. Why can't I get HD sound. Is NVPVR not able to do it yet?

Thank, S.
