V4 and V5 should be able to co-exist on one machine as long as they are not trying to do stuff at the same time as each other ... including, for example, an EPG update.  But, my advice is to stop the V4 service ... just in case.

You shouldn't have V4 and V5 installed together unless you really know what you're doing, since you'll need to either change the port one of them is listening on, or you'll need ensure that the service for only one of them is running at a time.

Some feedback :
ABC news has no sound when playing back recorded shows on this channel. Othere ABC channels have sound.
Web guide takes forever to show stations, even though the devices are present and with channels. Been waiting 10 minutes now.
On the desktop app there is no way to go to the next days guide or any other day
Channel 9 flakey showing artifacts.

So quite a few issues. I should totally uninstall maybe or just go back to version 4.2.2 which worked.
Also not a fan of having to go to the web interface to change settings and then beack to the desktop app to record as the web guide has no clear lines seperating shows

Please post logs ... See Get Help in the Wiki ... Thanks

Please tell us the time that you waited ten minutes for the Guide and times for other issues so that we know where to look in the logs. Thanks.

How often do you really change the backend setting? You should be able to do everything for day to day use in the client.

Web apps are the future HTPC apps are dying. deal with it. Personally I don't care if you stay on v4.

Sounds like you need to check out how you configured navigation in v4 next day exists. Ctrl arrows jump by days,

Audio issues are typically solved by decoders, sounds like you don't have the recommended LAV decoder installed for ac3 and mpeg.

The web app is probably still loading channels, it takes time the first time. Patience on a new install is a must.

I don't follow what you mean. What exactly is happening? There is nothing in the guide page that should take minutes.

If you click on the guide page (before you start scrolling down the page etc), you should see all the visible listings within a couple of seconds. If you're not, and they fill in much later, maybe your were running an EPG update in the background?

In the desktop app, it's exactly the same as v4.x. You can use the skip keys (ctrl-left/right) to jump a day at a time in the guide.

In the web app, you can click on the day in the top left of the guide to select another day.

This is a just a matter of what you're used to. You'll get used to it.

In general, all NextPVR settings are configured in the web app. The only settings in nextpvr.exe are the ones specific to that client, like decoders etc. Remember nextpvr.exe isn't available on platforms other than Windows, so it wouldn't make sense to do the configuration there, since NextPVR is a multi-platform app now.

I can see the black lines clearly around each show. Maybe your monitor is a bit dark and it's not obvious?
