Actually, I remember another significant issue with artwork from xmltv files. I couldn't tell until the file had been downloaded whether it was a poster style image, or a landscape style issue. The screenshots nathan909 supplied implied his were poster style images. The xmltv file that Martin pointed me at were Landscape style images. There is shortcuts I could take if I knew the client was after the poster, and I knew the xmltv file had poster artwork.

I just check like 80 of my cached images and they were all poster size. I also recall, when I used SD they were also poster size too, so I'm not sure when/where the Landscape images come into play

Yep, yours were poster shaped.

https://xmltv.ch/ which is another source of xmltv files which include artwork, uses landscape shaped and most of them are terrible (and no words or logos). Ultimately I can't know in advance what shape they are until I've downloaded it, and I may find it's not the shape I need, so have to go through the process to find and download artwork anyway.

Here is an example of one of those bits of artwork. I'm sure they could have come up with better artwork.

Sorry, I am having problems again getting show art to display, either it is missing or shows slowly. I noticed in Kodi art was missing, so I checked in web browser and here's an example:

I use Zap2It for all my art within my XMLTV, it's 100% correct and none missing.

Note, I have my active account which is set up correctly in NextPVR. For my XMLTV file I switched to Zap2It, I was having issues with SD when they changed some image mapping last year, but it also free.

I deleted all files in: 
\NextPVR\media\shows


Can you add a feature that uses the XMLTV tvshow poster size art if checked like Plex, Emby, Jellyfin... do?

If you can supply a sample xmltv file, I'll see if anything can be done.

As already explained, quality of xmltv artwork is usually very average, and at best supplies 1 of the 3 artwork files that NextPVR supplies. I might be able to add something to config.xml setting to download the artwork, and potentially use it for the poster or landscape image, and only use the online search for the other two images.

The best/quickest artwork you'll get will be from Schedules Direct.

As your video showed, when NextPVR has to use themoviedb/tvmaze to look for artwork, you'll typically only find artwork for mainstream entertainment shows. You wont typically get artwork for news shows.

As also shown, the very first time it has to search for artwork for a show, it can take a second or two. However, any time you need artwork for that show after this it's pretty much instant.

It only uses SD for artwork on listings that come from SD. If you're using xmltv, then it's not going to be able to use Schedules Direct for artwork for those shows.

Yeah all channels are set up and mapped properly to SD (as far as i know)

Me, I'd prefer it to grab it from my XML, but I think there is also some problem with SD or the exchange between the two.
