Thanks will try to mod for 10. They don't broadcast much that I would watch, mostly they seem to repeat U.S. and U.K. shows that I already have access to to, but there is the odd original worth watching.

Martin, I don't have any GUI on my NextPVR server, its a stripped-down Debian minimal kernel which runs only the NextPVR server; I cram it into 2 Gig on a VM. I do have other servers running a Linux desktop, so I'll try the ffmpeg command there to see what happens.

Thanks, lots to digest here, and I'm also super busy at work, but I have the next 2 weeks off, so I'll have plenty of time to play with all this. I have never used a user-agent before with NextPVR, so I'll have to research the options Looks like the ones in the EXTVLCOPT above won't work in Linux, but I don't understand what exactly the strings mean, so I'll need to look it all up.

Also, I don't know how to set up an Extra channel with the ffmpeg feed, so I'll have to work that out too....lots of reading I guess.

Lots of channels have been having issues recently, Channel 9 has started glitching, and it stutters a lot and the audio gets out-of-sync, so I'm going to need to do something to bring all this back in order.

Sbiddle; any chance you can export your M3U definitions from NextPVR and share the file so I have something to start with?

I'm currently using the raw feeds from Matt because it seemed most appropriate for NextPVR, but I'll start by trying to use the Kodi feeds to see if it makes any difference.

Kodi feeds don't help any. Matt updated his channels with alt versions of all the 9 channels (e.g. Channel 9 | Alt) and all the alt ones seem to have fixed the 9 issues.

Currently SBS and 10 are broken completely, and 7 freezes after about a minute unless I use the low quality feed from Whirlpool.

Looks like there are wok-arounds for all 3 of those channels, I just have to implement them manually

You are wrong to assume raw feeds are best.  The user agent can be very important especially for browser based  hls streams

OK, good to know. Matt has 3 feeds, Raw, Kodi, and TV Headend, which one would work best with NextPVR?

I was using Raw for years without issues, but recently all the Australian channels have been changing up their streams and everything seem to be falling apart.

Matt's file (even the Kodi one) won't work for 10 in NextPVR as it's still not sending the correct user-agent or NextPVR is choking on something in it.

I posted the lines you need to use above - you're going to need to create your own file to import (which is what I do anyway) rather than relying on his m3u files to work.

Yeah, I worked that out. I'm going to just paste in your update for channel 10 and try that.

I'll have to work out how to add an extra channel and ffmpeg for the 7 feed (or just use the low quality one).

Are you having issues with SBS also? If so did you manage to fix it? Will the ffmpeg trick work for that too?

Yes I just check with my cheapo VPN that has no bandwitdth and maybe sub doesn't support the pipe on IPTV (I know he does on extras)

Both channels are working with ffplay though and this extra worked but because of my VPN  speed it was too slow.

Create it as /var/opt/nextpvr/extras-seven.xml, rescan and import and it should use the mjh xml file too.

Code:
<extras>
    <channel name="Seven"  number="7" tvg-id="mjh-7-syd1">
      <command>ffmpeg</command>
      <args>-re -v panic -i https://i.mjh.nz/7-syd1.m3u8 -codec copy -c:s copy -f mpegts -</args>
    </channel>
</extras>

I got the fix for the the channel 10 variants to work, thanks for that; but I can't get any traction on channel 7. I added the file in /var/opt/nextpvr/extras-seven.xml (owned by nextpvr), but I don't think it is getting picked up. I'm just going in to the device in settings->devices and choosing  "Update Channels", but It doesn't seem to make any difference. Do I have to specifically import the extras file somewhere or is it supposed to be picked up by virtue of the fact that it uses the same channel name?

My M3U contains:

Code:
#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="mjh-7-syd1" channel-id="mjh-7-syd1" tvg-logo="https://i.mjh.nz/.images/7-syd1.png" tvg-chno="7" group-title="Sydney" ,Seven
https://i.mjh.nz/7-syd1.m3u8|user-agent=Mozilla/5.0%20%28Windows%20NT%2010.0%3B%20Win64%3B%20x64%29%20AppleWebKit/537.36%20%28KHTML%2C%20like%20Gecko%29%20Chrome/98.0.4758.102%20Safari/537.36&seekable=0&referer=%20

any my extras file is:

Code:
<extras>
    <channel name="Seven"  number="7" tvg-id="mjh-7-syd1">
      <command>ffmpeg</command>
      <args>-re -v panic -i https://i.mjh.nz/7-syd1.m3u8 -codec copy -c:s copy -f mpegts -</args>
    </channel>
</extras>

The entries  seem to match.

Is there any way of knowing whether it picked up the extras stuff?
