I see what is happening. I didn't realize you were trying to use comclean as well. I've never even heard of that yet. I assume its something that will use the data from Comskip and rip the commercials out of the file. If you're using that, then you will have issues putting RenameRecordings before it since it looks like it takes a filename. ComskipHelper and RenameRecordings both do not need, and do not use, the filename parameter. They both scan the entire GBPVR database for things to do. So, anything after RenameRecordings in your PostProcessing.bat file should not take a filename since that filename is not guaranteed to exist any more. It sounds like I should add an option to ComskipHelper to run comclean after comskip. That should be easy...

ZaDDaZ, if you're going to modify, have comskiphelper run comclean AND renamerecordings.
Personally, I would like to see all 3 of these plugins "joined", into one complete commercial removing/renaming software plugin, instead of separate.
It's been a struggle (to say the least) to get all 3 running for some of us...right HamsterGirl35? Big Grin

Yes, totally agree with reboot...

I would to see comskiphelper being implemented to be compatible with comclean so that I can use it again...coz I think it's a great utility.....^^

OK, so, here's what I plan on doing. I'm going to merge the functionality of ComSkip helper, RenameRecordings and MaxRecordings into one utility called RecordingsManager. I have modified ComSkipHelper already to do this, putting in functions so that it can be called from RecordingStatus.bat. If another instance is started while it is currently running, it will signal the current one that there is more work to do and the new one will exit. All I have left to do is put the RenameRecordings and MaxRecordings functionality in.

Is there anything else that should go in here?

What is MaxRecordings? I missed that one?

The more things in one the better, as long as you can 'turn off' what ever features you don't feel you want/need.
The rename part is very helpfull to me! I have not had problems with comskip, and can run it manually if I wanted, but the Comskip Helper is great if I make a change to the comskip.ini, and want to re-run it.

Has an exclude certain channels been implemented?

MaxRecordings is a utility that will delete older recordings as new ones come in. So say you wanted to record Oprah, but not fill up your drive or have to manually delete episodes that you didn't want or didn't have time to watch. You then configure your MaxRecordings.xml file putting the maximum number of that show to keep around and put MaxRecordings in your PostProcessing.bat file and it will delete the oldest recordings over your limit. I know sub put in something similar into the integrated recording function, but I use PriorityRecordings, so I don't think that would be helpful.

I will allow you to enable/disable all of the functions.

I have put in the exclusion of certain channels. Should I allow exclusions by program name?

I also have the function to launch comskip on in-progress recordings working as well. I am testing this now.

Sounds like a great plugin!
Exclusion of channels is good. I imagine some people would love to exclude specific programs, although I fail to see the purpose. If you don't want it, don't schedule it.
The version 0.66 has the option to have comskip "play nice"...that is, lower it's running priority. I think this works in 0.64 too (note to self: ask Jere about this), so having it run during the recording would be ok, providing it's not running during timeshifted TV viewing. I can't use "Live viewing" (the config option) so I'm stuck with a half second delay.
Looking forward to this!

If possible, it would be nice to have better integration with scheduling.

Ideally, there should be two Max Recordings / delete recordings settings:
-Don't record any more
-overwrite the oldest

"Don't Record any more" should allow that timeslot to be opened for the scheduler to schedule any previously conflicting shows.

I was referring to excluding comskip from running on certain channels, (Showtime, Encore....)
