[quote=laserfan]I still haven't found anything (for the "post-Zap2it" time) that gives me ATSC OTA sub-channel guide data. QUOTE]

Works for OTA ATSC for me. Since the guy that wrote is from Azel, TX, I imagine that they would have listings for Austin also.

No, jdonth's tool does not get the Digital TV sub-channels. If I understand some of the responses in his thread, there is something about the Yahoo API that is to blame i.e. the tool can only get what Yahoo gives it, and sub-channels are missing.

I don't understand it, particularly since when I just go to Yahoo! TV listings and set them-up for OTA ATSC I do get all the subchannel guide data there.

How odd. I'm kinda the opposite, I can't get OTA ATSC AND DishNetwork info from the Yahoo! TV listings, but I can get DishNetwork (national) from Yahoo, and then get the OTA ATSC channel info from jdonth's tool.

Yeah well as I said I don't "get it"--I haven't attempted to understand the inner workings of any of the zap2it replacement tools here cuz I had faith that a solution would come forward in an adequate time frame, but now I'm beginning to wonder.

Never underestimate what the desire for money can do. Smile
Plus, if sub says something is in the works, you can book it!

jdonth's tool will retrieve the OTA listings if those listings are rebroadcast in one of your cable/satellite lineups. Unfortunately, not of laserfan's lineups broadcast the subchannels he wants. Ths is why it works for some and not for others.

As for supporting SchedulesDirect. I'll most likely be using them personally and highly recommend others to do the same. Every other "solution" will really be just a patch/hack job with no guarantee that they won't break tomorrow, even my own.

This is what I'm banking on, however, I'd like to have an idea of the price before I stop evaluating all of the other options. I don't mind paying a little, but it was the $10 month price tag that drove me away from TIVO.

tipster ought to put up a poll to see what people are willing to pay for monthly (or yearly) tv guide service.
Better yet, we ought to have a pool with everyone posting what they think the new price will be with the winner getting the first month free. Wink

I think they're almost ready to post details. There has been a couple of updates to the http://www.schedulesdirect.org/ website in the last few hours.
