Are there any new features with respect to 5.1g?
Can they,be called from the command line?

-stattik- Wrote:Are these mpegs letterboxed? Typically 720 x 576 is a 4:3 resolution which is why the script uses 512x384 for a resolution. If these mpegs are truely 16:9 and are not letterboxed then you can SET profile=hdtv which will give you the correct aspect ratio. Would you be able to supply some samples of these videos? No they are not letterbox & setting the profile worked perfectly, thanks ![]() Do you still want any samples?

-stattik- Wrote:What kind of audio are you using? I'm using mp3 and I've successfully created mp4 and mkv files with x264 video although they don't create a proper graph in graphedit. Can you post a debug or the command line that mencoder is launched with? I've tried AAC and mp3 audio. I can put xvid in an mp4 or mkv or avi, but x264 doesn't work in anything including avi. Since I had grabbed a Mencoder build that's only a few days old, I now grabbed the one you mentioned a couple pages back. Build 12.03 I think. It looks like everything else works, so it must be some dumb little thing I'm missing. Command line launch when it then brings up a Windows "this program must close" box is enclosed at the bottom here. I just tried it again, and now three-letter searches work for threads, and now I see all the previous posts about mp4. I swear three-letter searches didn't work yesterday.... May as well ask this, too. comskipmode=no doesn't cut out commercials, but comskip=yes does. Is comskip=yes supposed to rerun comskip before encoding and cutting even though there's already an edl file there from when the program first aired? If I drop the file onto comskip.exe, I can see the comskip timeline, but then dragging and dropping it to stattik_transcoder it reruns comskip again. Ok, check this out... I can do h.264 in an avi (since that's the only container supported) in SkipTool. It uses Stattik-transcoder 5.1g. (I'm guessing I'm the reason Pastro was asking about that. ![]() I have the 5.5b script back to xvid, mp3, avi defaults and try to run x264 from drag-n-drop and then use the Stattik menu. It must be something in the script settings I'm missing. edit: I just tried it with Stattik_trans in debug mode, and what's in the text file below is still the last paragraph in the command line window when it errors. EDIT2: Tried pointing the new script to the GBPVR-installed mencoder in Third Party. Apparently this time I did it without a typo. ![]()
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

Anytime you feel like making any command line changes, let me know and I'll build it into the plugin. Keeping it at the same number of parameters would be ideal.

Hi, I've been browsing around this forum for a while trying to find my answer but I haven't been able to so far. I'm trying to convert my recordings from gbpvr that's in mpeg-2 format into an avi form so I can do my final good compression with virtualdub. But, everytime I try using skiptool's converter or gb-pvr converter in the video library section, I get these crappy outputs of file sizes around 200-400mb that are blocky and very bad video quality. I've been playing around with the settings to try to bump up the bitrates but nothing I've done has seemed to change it, I still get crappy outputs with small file sizes.
I've also tried your utility by itself from here: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...anscodeCut using stattik transcode version 0.5.1f but this also has given me poor outputs. Any suggestions? please let me know if you need more info to help. Thanks, xJedix

I cleared up the description in the script. There is no comskip=yes variable in the current version of the script. If you already have an edl file set comskipmode=no. Rading the rest of your post confused me. Did you find the typo after or before you posted the attachment? Tell me if I got this right. You can create avi's with x264. You can create mkv's and mp4's with xvid. If you try to create mkv's and mp4's with x264, mencoder errors out. If the above it correct, can I get the command line for a mkv or mp4 with x264 that error out? Thanks.
