For list backgrounds, I would assume that sub will include a method in baseskin.xml for most, if not all, of the places he currently uses <DrawRoundedRect>

I want to send a Kudos here.
Old Dog has given the community (probably) the most complete skinning system ever designed!
Works with virtually every plugin there is posted on the wiki, and allows easy changing of the complete look and feel to whatever colour/button scheme anyone could want.
This was my original vision when I posted the (now extremely long) thread about too many plugins.
Any user can download Plain Jane, and it will work with any plugin they have (almost?).

Pretty much everything is hard coded in that one. You can change colors (or turn them off) of screen elements. They are all special elements, no composite images.

Reboot, Plane Jane has been updated in the wiki to support CheckMail. Fatman_do was right, everything is pretty much hard coded, limiting it's skin-ability. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Any more new plug-ins before I start reworking TV Guide?

It needs a complete rewrite, or someone to write a new one, adhering to the principles of baseskin.xml

I have a huge beef with X-Search, or FindFast as it used to be called.
Here's what I think it should look like (colours can be changed).
Who needs a 500 pixel field for one letter?
Why is the Name field so far to the right?
The "Name" is so far over, that the date and time run off the screen.
As you can see, I've fixed that
Now if I can get rid of the fangs I'll be even happier!

Sure Out of Luck.....all the X-series are "challenging".

BTW, the first column can display channels in addition to a single letter. Press CTRL-Y or the yellow button on remote to toggle through that.

As Fatman_do says, the first column can contain more characters. However you're right, the column is probably wider than it needs to be. I'll look into it tonight.

About the date & time running off screen, that suprises me. Would you make a screen shot of that for me? It would help me understand the problem.

Now if I can get rid of the fangs I'll be even happier!

The "Fangs" are the xml button style that is hardcoded in, notice the lines sticking down at each side of the button.
