anydvd would do the job, but:
- it's trailware
- would sub be willing to take the risc of hosting it?

it's just not worth the trouble, in doubt i would rather let DVD playback away from the live CD

yea, anydvd would be perfect but it's pay as well.....
i was thinking more along the lines of dscaler or MPV style....
guess i'll have to just try them out and see what works...maybe even the hauppauge ones, or the many cyberlink ones floating out there[ claiming the be 'free'] with a d/l link...but only if i can get only that single codec..

actually i was gonna make a insta-downloader to grab that stuff for ya...Smile

has to be something out there that's free or opensource...

cuz just need the decoer, the navigator is already built in...

almost done with the config section, set your server, client mode, shares, vmr, etc..

under 800 meg...and haven't even cleaned it up much...Smile
so there is hope for under 700...Big Grin

prolly sometime this week or next..

well i think i've found it...a few actually...lol
seems the codecs have been updated since sub added them...
i'm getting encrypted dvd's playing with both a new[to me!] codec, Fraunhofer video decoder,[it says free for non-commercial use!] and the very nice MPV mpeg decoder...Smile which we know is free..
attaching my graph so you can see it's really them...looked great...
i'll be trying more codecs and report on which ones work for dvd's...

i'm trying them on a clean system so can't be any other filters helping..Big Grin

so time to update the old supporteddvddecoders list...muhahaha

[i'll report which ones work well, the Fraunhofer one works, but looks scaled, the MPV looks fabulous!]

of course i've already included the MPV one so looks like nothing else needed..

too cool...
works in vmware even...lol

EDIT: oops,forgot my graph! lol

too cool finally a dvd decoder that's free....since GBPVR provides the navigator, it's all that's needed for dvd playback!...Big Grin

looks like Dscaler 5,and MPV decoder....ati mpeg decoder is missing things, haven't tried he newest gpl decoder but i bet it does as well...

so Sub, please add both "DScaler Mpeg2 Video Decoder" and "MPV Decoder Filter" to the supported Dvd decoders list when you can...

i'll torture test the rest and let you know...
i suspect it's a addition in the avfmt libs code that is shared amongst these projects allowing it to work...but that graph should show no other filters helping, and no background decrypters at work, i ran in vmware just to be sure...

so good deal...dvd for everyone Big Grin

yep, confirmed on fresh machine...both work...
ran my dvd-os on a machine with 2 dvd drives...

the dscaler one is obviously better on cpu than the MPV one, but both play from totally clean system with just gbpvr...built from regular winxpsp2..
both run in both overlay[recommended] and vmr [better with subs]
and subs work in both...
for some reason i've lost my net radio, but i think i forgot to include a gbpvr patch... [was working..]

i think also the dvd navigator from media player classic is available seperate as well, works nicely...also he has codecs for ac3 and mp2...and dscaler's audio decoder does ac3 i think as well as mixdown,spdif,etc...Big Grin
i was imagining a dvd with the os and the video on one disc...lol silly but maybe possible...hehe

so it's the dscaler all the way for the portable cd...video and audio..
[users can add their own cyberlink if needed with seperate plugin]

with those and the ffdshow stuff i think i've got everything imaginable covered...Big Grin

on to more parts..
remotes here i come...

almost ready for upload....Smile

seems the upload only allows 9 megs here on forums so i still have to yank some stuff out to post here...everything will fit excpet for the video card drivers,[25meg] so i'lll have to include a link as they are very important to accelerated operation...[i use Omega ati drivers]

i also figured out a way to have the temp dirs placed on drive with most free space at time of boot...or cdrom if none found..and if gbpvr is found at any drive under \program files\gbpvrclient\ it will set registry to that location and run that gbpvr instead of one of optical drive... [for option of running it from hard/thumb drive..]

so maybe later or tomorrow...Big Grin

ok here 's the basics...for those of you who already have experience building BartPE discs, the plugins necessary to run gbpvr from PE...
now your hardware may vary, so make sure you have the drivers built into your pe for your machine...i'll include a plugin that copies all the winXP built in drivers..should cover most hardware except video cards...

the FBFW plugin is the one that makes the cdrom letter "writeable"...a must have...and XPE is the one that gives bartpe a explorer shell, another must have...as it also sets up directx...as well as 'enable sound' and of course dot.net2...and vc2005 stuff...

so if any of you try it out, let me know how it goes...lots of pieces to assemble, but once you're there, it's a breeze to make changes..

pretty much all of these plugins are required, and try not to add too much as some other plugins will break functionality in some places..but can be worked around easily..

i think other plugins should be ok with the way temp is now tho,[still on b:]
[i 'subst' b: for drive with largest free space...lol] so i don't forsee much plugin compatibility problems...

tho i willl probably move temp back into b:\ instead of b:\temp\

so unzip into your bartpe dir and don't forget to 'configure' the gbpvr and dotnet plugins before building!! [hit configure button in bartpe plugin screen]
that will copy all your gbpvr files over, set the config.xml for your client, and shares, and copy timezone info from current os...
the dot.net config will copy files from os install of dotnet...

to customize shell, look in xpe dir in z_xpe-custom.inf, can change many things there....

anyways, let me know how it goes..and use this with a copy of your normal winpe setup, as it's still very-very alpha right now...[and you can have many bartpe setups, they don't bother eachother]

oh and buyild from winxpsp2 source as MCE source didn't work same for me...
also i'm including a WMP10 slipstreamer batch so you ccan have WMP10 included in your xp cd by default...

The zip file you're trying to upload is probably too big.
