Well I've found out something that might be useful.

I found that when stop recording problem happens doing a signal check using ScanChannelsBDA_UK-dbg.exe on the tuner that was stopped will cause the data to flow again from the other tuner to the recording that should still be in progress.

So, if tuner x and tuner y are recording and tuner y's recording is stopped and stalls tuner x's recording. Doing a signal check on tuner y will set the data flowing again on tuner x's recording.

Maybe there's potential for a work around in that.

Seems to me it's a driver issue in that case. Not the first time Hauppauge (and other manufacturers) have had overlap problems where one tuner can affect another.

Cheers,

maybe try to reproduce the problem with <BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording> = 0?

I've tried that before, same problem.

Haven't been able to reproduce this issue using WinTV which suggests it isn't a driver issue.

I have been able to reproduce this issue under Vista.

Not reproducing the problem under WinTV doesnt mean its not driver problem though, it just means means the drivers work fine in the exact set of steps WinTV uses. (doesnt WinTV only use a single tuner?)

Has anyone had this problem that doesnt have a Nova-T 500? If so, post the logs please.

I have been using three Hauppauge Nova devices for about two years. Every day I record shows that overlap as described here. I have never seen this problem, not even a stutter.

Sorry I can't be any help.

Good Luck

WinTV can use multiple tuners with it's background recording service.

I haven't said it definitely wasn't the drivers. I merely said it suggested that they might not be to blame here.

I'd be interested to know what you think GB-PVR might be doing differently compared to WinTV as I'd guess WinTV is doing the minimum required. Particularly what GB-PVR does when it ends a recording.

Its hard to guess. There is no way of really knowing what the WinTV app does behind the scenes.

I'm still waiting for more logs if people have them.
