Understood. But I guess I wonder why the "text background" graphic is used behind another graphic element, which is not text?

Just because it gave the same appearance to the text to the left without adding an additional image to contend with. No other justification really.

Yes, it does seem quicker. Button preview still pretty slow to load (on my 6 year old laptop).

Just downloaded and tried the HD skin...looks great so far. I just wanted to point out that I have XRecord installed and when I attempt to load this plugin in the HD skin, it locks up GBPVR. I'm guessing this is just a skin still in progress but thought I should point it out in case one of you had it working on your machine and figured it was working on all installations.

Keep up the good work...the HD skin looks great!

Just installed latest CS4-SD. Found a problem related to the Text Size settings:

No change I make to the TV Guide Text Size seems to have any effect. There are also two entries for TV Guide Text (I see this has been fixed per the tasks page); I adjusted both to no avail. The default size is HUGE on my display (61" SD, running at 1024x768)

Thanks though, overall looks pretty good.

edit: removed other problems I was reporting that I discovered have already been addressed on the CS Tasks page.
edit: additional note for clarity: I am able to change the General and OSD text sizes, just not the TV Guide text size

I tried out the SD version, for use via the MVP's. Button-press responses were so slow as to blow the WAF off the chart. Nothing would happen for a few seconds then multiple queued key presses would happen in an instant. Guess I'll have to test when she isn't around.

One item of note is the pop-up confirmation box when deleting a recording. The text asking "Are you sure that you want to delete this recording?" is too tiny for these old eyes to read.

Is this just in the SkinPlugin or generally?

It's when the CS4 skin is selected in the MVP tab of config.exe. Moving through the menu for recordings was very slow as compared to how it works when the default skin is enabled.

On the MVP it has been suggested that the "Matte" graphical options improve performance.
