McBainUK, Im still on XP with the free Spotify subscription. However, I am considering upgrading to a paying account when I in one way or another can get Spotify to my PCHs.

I do today have a streaming setup with Edcast/Icecast between my computer and PCHs, but since my computer is in another floor I am not too happy with my setup. It requires me to run upstairs as soon as I want to change playlist or skip songs.

In previous MusicSpot discussions (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post370714) Martin was talking about a library to stream Spotify to PCHs. Hence, your work together with Martins might become the solution I have been looking for. Fingers crossed.

What would you describe your usage pattern as? For example; I tend to have lots of playlists but 95% of them are just complete Albums. To aid in navigation I've created a playlist folder for each artist and have the Albums for that artist inside the folder.

Will look into Spotfy on the PCH at some point. As I don't have one (only got a wired MVP used for playing music in the home 'gym'), this will be lower priority.

In my case I would see no problem setting up and administrate all my playlists on the computer and then only be able to select playlists to play on NPVR. I do however see a need to have play/paus, stop and skip functions from NPVR.

If there was a way to organize playlists in folders that would just be a bonus.

Not sure if I am being to modest but in my book I do not see any immideate need to search Spofity from NPVR although that would also be a nice thing to have.

Like in the original GB-PVR Spotify plugin, you currently need to create a list of favourite Albums and tracks (by drag and drop from the Spotify Application) which are then shown in the plugin like a music library. Personal or public playlists are not supported (and would only work with a Premium account if the were to be added in the future).

Do you think this is acceptable?

I don't really remember how the old plugin worked but did you have to drag and drop song by song or could you drag album by album? I thought you could create a playlist and then drag that playlist to musicspot? Already with my free account I can use both personal and public playlists.

Anyway, as a start think that what you are suggesting is sufficient and would work fine for my needs. As NPVR is the main tool for playing media in our house I think any Spotify functionality is better than nothing, assuming I will get PCH support Wink

You could drag a single track or a whole album. Free accounts can use any type of playlist but the Spotify API for playlists (which is what the plugin would use) is restricted to paid for accounts.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. As I said, the MusicSpot functionality in GBPVR was for me sufficient to start with.

I assume playlist functionality could be added later should you see the need for it.

I would consider PCHs streaming a higher priority.

You could start up Spotify via NPVR and listen on the NMT/MVP via WebRadio using these steps

http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...#pid447015

You could even go further and bypass WebRadio if you asked sub to support http for audio playback, like he did for me with video in the last release. Failing that I could likely but a hook into WebRadio which would allow you to pass me a URL for playback.

Thanks for the info Martin, I had seen that thread but assumed it was only valid for the C-200 model. Setup sounds alot easier than my current edcast/icecast. Will try it out.

This will be interesting once McBainUK is getting the NPVR plugin in the works. Dont know if Sub reads this thread so I will request http audio playback support in a new thread.

Thanks,
