Great work Hairy, and others.

I've taken the liberty of tidying up the text a bit, making it a bit more consistent and correcting typos, Smile emphasising the community element and adding the fact that gbpvr is free - remember that we're competing with Windows Media Center. See what you think:
--
Quote:gbpvr is a free, mature, robust, full-featured Personal Video Recorder (PVR) and media centre application which runs on Microsoft Windows. Its strengths lie in how it handles your television experience, in its support from an active and friendly community, and its community-developed add-ons. Did we mention that it's free?

* With gbpvr you can watch live or time-shifted television programmes, pause, rewind or skip through the adverts. Through the integrated electronic programme guide (EPG) you can use gbpvr to schedule programmes to record for later viewing, set reminders for programmes you might want to watch or set it to record whole seasons of your favourite shows. gbpvr supports the latest technologies, including ATSC/ClearQAM/DVB-C/DVB-T/DVB-S capture devices, standard definition and high definition (HD) MPEG2 and H.264 television channels, multidec support and offers advanced features like multi-record (recording multiple digital channels with one tuner).

* As a media centre, gbpvr supports the playback of a wide variety of media types: images and music as well as video. It also supports tags and album art for your music, movie descriptions and art work for your videos and can display a full screen slideshow of your photos. It also supports dvd and blu-ray disc playback.

* gbpvr allows you to experience its interface and features on a selection of media extenders. Currently gbpvr supports the Hauppauge MediaMVP and NMT devices such as the Popcorn Hour.

Community

gbpvr has attracted a large, international community of helpful, friendly and active members. The gbpvr forums are the hub of this community. There you'll find a huge level of support for gbpvr and its extensive list of community-created add-ons that help expand the gbpvr experience. If you need help, want to offer help, or contribute to the development effort, this is the place to go.

Forums

gbpvr has a user supported and documented wiki. The wiki includes more information on getting started with gbpvr, and contains a full list of the community-created add-ons, plugins, skins and themes that allow you to customise gbpvr so it works exactly as you want.

Cheers McBainUK, thanks for the help.

When I piss and moan about having to deal with code to those folks I know that code professionally. They always smile and nod and say "but what about that feeling you get when you get something to work". I experienced that for the first time last night. I could have done cartwheels when I got it working... and the bloody tooltip looks better for it. Smile

liteswap, thanks for the feedback - good stuff. Especially the more emphasis on free and international community. I think I'll stick in a couple of these final tweaks to the text and leave any finer points to sub for when it goes live.

Cheers

Does gbpvr support native blu-ray disc playback?

The description meta in the HTML, used by search engines in their results:

"gbpvr is a free media centre application for your PC. Watch live/timeshifted or recorded TV. Play your entire digital media library: video, music, picture slideshows, radio and DVD/Blu-ray discs with this full featured and free media centre application."

No, GBPVR does not natively support Blu-ray Disc playback. Unless sub has a surprise for us with 1.5.x

Yup, you're right. I'll look into this and see if it's a Safari issue or just an iPhone issue and try to fix it later tonight. I may not spend too much time on it though since it would only affect iPhones/Macs.
