No it wouldnt. Best to schedule the EPG update to occur in the middle of the night when you're unlikely to be recording.

Man, this is an old thread... I still have this issue and it pretty much makes the EPG useless if updates are left on.. I dont see why its not a very widespread problem amongst all users.
Sub, is there any way this can be fixed so updates of times etc can take place intelligently so items are updated and not added?
As a matter of interest, could you enumerate whats holding back a fix here?
I appreciate there are recording issues but if the recording is ID tagged with the original schedule, and the time alters by a few minutes, the recording will reschedule by that many minutes too to adjust the recording times.
cheers pc

This is obviously not a widespread problem, but I seem to remember that someone got rid of the problem by exporting the recordings, replacing the database by a copy of Empty.db3 (and renaming it to Npvr.db3), then setting up all devices again and importing recordings.

Complete removal, wipe , reinstall and patch done and the problem still exists.. I was rather hopeful if would not return with a complete wipe... any ideas or solutions any one.. maybe time for a code fix??

dvb-epg in the UK shows that BBC quite often updates its times, because of sports events overrunning etc, and then we get two entries for the one program. If the program is tagged for recording then NPVR uses the old times. It would be nice if it used the updated time.
This might be a different problem from Aus as we just get the one duplicate, not loads of them.

Its dbt-epg.. scheduled update 0300 .. I would have though it was quite feasible to have logic that overlaid the existing programs in the epg with updates - intelligently recognising when an entry was new vs an update to the original. It should certainly be able to cope with minor time shift and also modify recordings accordingly, and handle new and replacement schedules as applicable.

Edit .. my Strong set top box handles this circumstance perfectly - no duplicates. Why not NPVR?

I've been working on this for the next release. Hopefully it is resolved. I cant be sure until it's in users hands though.

Thanks sub.. my most anticipated feature!! bring it on.. that'll leave me with little to grumble abt. ... except stuttering, lip sync, not having a bigger tv to display on, more powerful video card req'd, not enough disk space, crappy programming, .....
