What exactly does the message say? Is it a Window's style popup with message etc? If so, please post the details to help me know where it is trying to look for the this directory.

When I press on Live TV menu item, I get this popup message "Live TV Buffer Directory Does not Exist: F:\Recordings\"

A reboot fixed my analog tuner issue. Tried a test with analog source, same problem, no smooth playback through recordings about a frame per second.

This patch should fix the directory problem.

Sounds out of the ordinary to me. I definitely dont see anything like that here, and I know others are successfully using it too. If I were you I'd probably run perfmon to look at network utilisation.

I'd take a careful look at your network throughput Zaldwaik. I had a very similiar issue with GBPVR here that was caused by an incompatability between my client nic and my switch. I know it may be different in Npvr, but in my case, recorded squeezed inside the resticted bandwidth, but live did not - hence stuttering with live TV.

Server: Ci5 2500k, 3GB, Windows Server 2012, nPVR 3.5.7. 2xWinTV-DVB-T USB, 1xWinTV-DVB-T PCI, 2 x BlackGold DVB-T, 1xPCTV290E and 1xPCTV460E on Astra 28.2 E.
clients: RPI2, Acer R3700, PCH-A110, NUC, 3xSamsung Smart TV

I think it is network related, but I have looked at my network utilization and at most it is 3%. I use network performance testing tools and my network is quite solid. I get sustainable 80 mb/s for wired and 45 mb/s for wireless. Playback through media player is fine even for hi bit rate files. Additionally, as I stated before, the same files play smoothly using GBPVR Videos plugin, regardless of bitrate and file type even using my wireless network, it is the difference in delivery mechanism (I think streaming vs share) that is making the difference.

Sub, I am not a developer, but the Videos plugin works so well, why not use that for Recordings? After all, a server share is always a requirement for the client to work.

@zaldwaik - you have to keep in mind that no one else is having such problems with the NPVR client mode. It's tough to convince sub to make wholesale changes to the way a feature works just because one user is having a problem.
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct
main client: NextPVR 5.0.7 Desktop Client; LG 50UH5500 WebOS 3.0 TV

I do see a similiar problem on my desktop PC with no mpeg hardware decoder, live TV will stutter, but if I hit record and then watch the recorded program it seems much better. Doesn't bother me though as I dont use it as a regular client. Its less of a problem with VR9 than with EVR on Win7P.

Sorry, but this is entirely different, and cant be used with live tv (since it relies on different directshow filters that have their own stuttering problems, just like GBPVR with TS files in filesharing mode). We'll have to work through the streaming issues.

Fixed, thanks. Network utilization is similar for same files playback from Recordings and Videos (15% analog, 30% Digital) but unwatchable from Recordings.

Is there a buffer setting I can play with?
