I've even selectively disabled 1 tuner at a time, to see if that helps to eliminate the problem, to no avail.

That's not to say that the problem hasn't reoccurred--it has--but I have not noticed it until it was too late to create the additional log file.

DHL your problem is a little different than zaldwaik's though. You have 3 HVR-2250's, whereas zaldwaik has an HDHR combined with other tuners which is really what's being discussed in this thread (and is the problem that seems to be limited to XP users).
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct
main client: NextPVR 5.0.7 Desktop Client; LG 50UH5500 WebOS 3.0 TV

@zaldwaik in threads like this remember that your problem and DHL's problem might not even be related and it might not be related to the OP's either so you can't use each others experience. As johnsonx42 said some XP users have reported much better experience with the HDHR on Win7.

@DHL when you say the hardware is the "same" to you mean even memory? It might be <3GB or > 4GB problem, Hauppauge have had 64 bit driver problems before.

@mvallevand: all components are the same, all bought at the same time, and all built at the same time (well, within a few hours of each other), the opsys was then loaded onto one computer, and once fuly loaded and settings tweaked, copied to the to other computers. Then nPVR was installed separately on each computer.

I'm not sure if they are the same problem or not as there is also this one http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post402364 which is to do with starting a recording on a different tuner causing what does seem to be the same sort of problem, peanut is also running xp on his server & it is really going to be hard to justify the cost updating to w7 just for a recording/streaming to NMT's server.

Well it looks like I have 3 not-so-great options, go back to GBPVR, upgrade to Windows 7 and hope the problem will go away or live with 1 tuner until Sub fixes NPVR.

Those are the options I'm mulling through as well. I really don't want to go back to GBPVR, since NPVR handles .ts skipping (with comskip) much better), and just feels a lot better, especially on the digital end, plus it's where all new development is. I'm contemplating getting a Windows 7 box, as the current computer is definitely old, but it's working for now. I'm living with 1 digital tuner, which is fine for now, but annoying. I can record both one digital signal off the HDHomeRun and the analog side of the HVR-1600 at the same time, which is interesting, so that's how I'm dealing with the one conflict that I currently have regularly in what I want to record.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for sub to fix it, since it works for him on Windows 7, and I can really understand him not wanting to support XP, especially as it seems the problem is related to something to do with the Windows/DirectShow end. Although I do keep on going back to the fact that it works in GBPVR with its TS Mux, so there has to be something different that sub did on NPVR that breaks it on XP. But it could be some library getting loaded at a different place in memory or something equally unreproducible, and I can't really blame him for not getting into the ridiculous amount of work that I'd expect it would take for him to try to reproduce and then fix it.

Unforturnatly it doesn't appear that Windows 7 will fix your problem. I too am experiencing weirdness when recording.

I have attached three log groups.

1) Varied scheduled recordings. One starts, the next starts 1/2 hour later.

2) Silmultaneous recordings both started mid program at the same time.

3) Again Varied scheduled recordings starting at offset times, but overlaping.

I am running Windows 7 on a Pentium 4 machine with 2 Gigs Ram. Two Hauppauge WinTV cards. One is PCI HVR-1600 the other PCEexpress HVR-1850 (media centre kit).

In all cases the recordings begin on time and continue for approx 30mins. In the case of the offset/stagared recordings the recording works until the second recording starts. No further recordings are possible as when the recordings crap out the screen goes blank and the computer is frozen until reboot.

I have been through the normal trouble shooting steps. ie. turn of any power saving, screen savers, etc. etc. (including npvr screen saver).

If I remove one or other card everything works fine. It's only when a second card is introduced that the problem occurs.

Also, if a recording is in progress and I attempt to watch tv the problem will occur after a few mins. (approx 15).

My guess would be that the problem is in the recording service but I'm no programmer.

I have yet to attempt setting the background recording check mark in settings, and tonight I will disable the virus software and try it again.

All that being said, NPVR is a great improvement over GB-PVR and kudos definatly go to sub for this release. With the available plugins it is smooth, good looking and a great addition to the home pvr/tv experince. I have no doubt sub will figure this one out!
