Was this the "RTL GP Formule 1 - Amerika (race) 2012_20121118_19002200.ts" recording? It look like it started at 18:50 and continued until about 19:35 when you restarted the recording service. It hadn't stopped the recording after 6 minutes. My guess is something has gone wrong with multidec. Have you ever seen the problem with a FTA channel?

Yes.

The recording was just 6 minutes long, the file size 603 MB. Maybe the recording hasn't ended, but the file stopped growing and it seems to be "completed".

I'm not sure, I have to test that. I'll report back.

Another question: what would happen if I lost signal on a channel? Could this cause my problem? Today I noticed I can't watch a certain channel.

I've been testing a bit and I do have some issues with newcs and/or acamd. I have set logging of both to text-files so I can watch what happened if this problem occurs again (by the way, next sunday is the next F1 broadcast).

Whilst experimenting, I have had an issue which may be the same or another problem, I don't know. But two recordings (from an encrypted, digital channel), I can't play back with NPVR (menu recording, or menu videos) but I can with WMP.

I just tried watching this video and it plays ok for me. Can you try playing the video, then post the npvr.log?

I played it through Video menu (in which I have a directory "recordings"). Here are the logs.

Are you using different H.264 decoders on the two machines?

No. I think it's best to put on old windows image back on the system. Maybe some problems are solved then.

Sub, I've got an email with your new message "Can you watch any H.264 videos on the problem machine? I'm guessing its somehow decoder related.", but I can't see it posted (you probably deleted it already?). But no, at the moment I can't watch any HD channel. I'm just about to put the old ghost image back. I'll report back about the HD and next Sunday (F1 broadcast), I'll report about the ACAMD/NEWCS problem.

Well, the old image is back on the pc. Now I can watch the HD video and channels again. One problem solved, 1 to go. NewCS seems to be unstable, not after every reboot it works. I often have to stop and start it again. Could this cause the problems in this thread if it happened during a recording?
