I am having trouble with X-NEWA as well. Unable to contact NextPVR Server and Unable to load NEWA data.
Works fine from browser and user/password are OK. IP address is 172.25.x.x which is within 172.16.0.0/12

I'm getting the same problem (running the latest NEWA and the latest X-NEWA).....all working from a web browser...
- Running on 192.168.137.0/24 - Start X-NEWA for the first time and get the message "Unable to contact server" enter in to Settings and put in the IP address of the NextPVR server and username/password - The system start to attempt to connect and then returns with "Unable to load NEWA data" I have tried from three different system on my LAN, all with the exact same results, so I assume something isn't right on my NextPVR server? I have no firewall enabled, I can connect to NEWA on HTTP:8866, my XBMC is Frodo Release (I have tried to 3 different skins including the default).... Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Upload your xbmc.log and the NextPVR web.log and I'll have a look.

Strangest thing happened...I restarted my NextPVR service (for the third time) and then everything on all clients (aTV2 with XBMC/Frodo, and OSX and Windows client) all started working....odd. Just another question...on my aTV2 it isn't capable of running LiveTV on some channels (1080i channels) therefore I thought I could use X-NEWA to transcode using VLC...I'm just a little bit lost as to how I enable/use these feature in terms of the share drive etc. that I am meant to set up?

In the atv2 setup configure vlc streaming. I have use UJB's settings http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post445903 except as a ts stream because the default NEWA settings didn't work
However I just checked and I am not sure this is working right now. Martin

Umm..ok...I thought it would have been something I needed to adjust on the server? Does each client make a request via their own settings thereby making a request for the NEWA server to transcode to the client?

Yes it is client enable, but you can only set one newa transcoding option on the server. In future versions of NextPVR I might to be able to use ffmpeg transcoding URL's that can be custom by client.
