NPVR & KODI Integration

Sorry I thought I attached it. Yes, I understand that codecs only apply to the playback/viewing of material. Again I am interested in fixing the recording issue as I can watch the recording through other means when a recording does not fail. Thank you.

Please follow Graham's instructions, the npvr.log file is no use for checking recording problems.

Thank you Sub, Martin and Graham for your help. Since we have made various mods to my current setup I think it is best to start from a fresh install of NPVR. To that end I will proceed the uninstall and not install the patch NShared.dll nor the LAV codecs until advised to do so on this attempt. This way I am starting with a clean slate.

Graham, NPVR is on a single W10 box and although I do have Kodi installed, I do not engage with kodi when testing out NPVR so this shouldn't effect this recording attempt.

As soon as I can I will get back with you guys on this. Thanks to all again.

Just completed install of newest NPVR version after deleting all instances of NPVR throughout my machine. Loaded in IPTV and EPG URL's which loaded in flawlessly. Clicked on live TV and got this...

Checked in MS Services which indicated that the recording service was running.

Can you see if this updated NShared.dll fixes it?

Installed updated Nshared.dll and installed LAV codecs. The crash was eliminated but I still get no live tv nor any tv viewing via the TV Guide. Just a black screen after letting it stay for 20 minutes. TV Guide gets populated just fine but no picture is coming through. Tried watching several channels but no joy. Also tickled the "Use Legacy NPVR..." Log is attached.

I've really still got no idea what is different about your setup that is stopping it doing anything.

With that 'Use legacy NPVRTSReader...' setting ticked, does it make any difference attempting to play a recording (that has a file you know is good, and can be played in another player)?

If you're up for it, I'm happy to use Teamviewer to connect to your machine and take a look. I'm pretty sure we'd get to the bottom of it pretty quickly.

What happens if you use the guide to to select and record a show? Do you get a file in your recordings folder? Is the file zero bytes? If the file contains data, can you playback the recording in NextPVR Recordings?

After some searching that looks to be a server for Kodi ihas logic for streaming using banned Kodi plugin logic to access the source streams. NextPVR won't have access to that logic.
